... lost to Chelsea ... shock horror! .... from what we've witnessed already this season who can say their totally surprised by today's score line?

Whilst I'm not surprised I am pissed off ... pissed off that we are the same Leicester  City we have always been, almost there ... always the bridesmaid ... total bollocks again today, a league below the team we faced ... but hey ... WTF, back to the day job Monday with little cheer from the weekend (but the players are getting well paid so I must be ecstatic!!!!!)

Who felt confident when they saw the team?

The team clearly didn't.

Had Simpson been RB and a back 4, that would have relied on the tried and tested.

I think Claudio tried to see how Chilwell would get on as LWB, but deploying the tactics versus Chelsea that is one bold call!! It some ways it's a bit harsh on Chilwell

Chill out all- we are not regular title contenders. Last season we were spoilt don't expect it every season FFS

Nope, but it was a poor enough performance to merit some criticism. Shots on target? Chances created? Effort and desire?

Really? He didn't play well. He just didn't stand out as being especially awful.

The midfield didn't apply nearly enough pressure. There was an insane amount of space for Chelsea to move into in the Leicester half and the midfield stood off again and again. They might have looked tidy enough every so often, but they weren't effective. There were other, possibly bigger, problems on show today - the defensive organisation, the strike partnership, managerial decisions etc. - but I wouldn't wish to get too excited about Ndidi or Mendy. Even if they weren't as awful as Fuchs / Drinkwater and so on.

Drinkwaters been poor for like 5 games now. Needs dropping.

The most worrying thing for me was Ranieri describing the team as producing a very good performance.

If that is what he really thinks how is he going to manage to put things right ?

I know he's been injured, but what has he done that's brilliant? He seems genuinely anonymous to me?

He's been getting around the pitch and getting tackles in, breaking up the play. The only games he's been poor in are this one and the Porto match.

What's this always the bridesmaid bollocks??

I think people have been spoilt by our league win... I mean seriously how long have Liverpool, Spurs etc been waiting for a league title? Always the bridesmaid? We are reigning champs FFS

Chilwell, Albrighton, Gray and maybe Fuchs are the only ones to escape mass criticism for me.

Albrighton and Fuchs had absolute shockers. Not entirely their fault as they were playing out of position against the best team in the country but they were awful. Ndidi, Chilwell and Gray were the only ones who would be happy(ish) with their performance.

You think Claudio changed the entire formation to see what Chilwell was like as a wing back?!?

The thing is, we all post about different teams and formations because it's all we can do, when really it's about mentality

Like it - totally agree, although I think mentality plus confidence is the combo that is collectivly lacking

I think he tried to accommodate both Fuchs and Chilwell, who he (and all of us) thinks are better than Simps

He said in his interview that he wanted to match Chelsea's formation.

He also said in the interview that Kante was better suited at Leicester... he may as well have said he wanted to suck Conte's balls as I hope most of what he feeds the media is rubbish anyway

What he's saying is correct. He dosent wanna throw his players under the bus, nothing good ever comes of it. I assume stuff is being said behind the scenes.

Not understanding the love for Mendy?

Won the ball, hardly gave it away. He was poor, but not as poor as Drinkwater. I'm glad mendy doesn't slump down to the smash it forward route.

So just come out and say we weren't at it today or that they were the better team but everyone, including the players know it was anything but "a very good performance",

I'd take what he's saying with a pinch of salt.

I don't expect him to slam the players but I'd be more reassured by some semblance of reality.

A week ago we were all raving at how well Mendy & Ndidi played against Everton, while despite how bad Drinky has been recently he is virtually undroppable, we need him in midfield regardless of the situation. Opt for Mendy, Ndidi and King you're looking at the most uncreative and most negative midfield in the Premier League. We played Mendy, King & Amartey against Boro and we were defensively sound, kept a clean sheet and those three in particular worked hard; however on the attacking side of things they didn't do much. You just have to find that right balance and Drinkwater is pivotal for that, without him we might look a solid defensive unit as seen at Boro but where does our forward drive come from?

Go back to what we saw at Everton, I was surprised we didn't play that formation today, why change a winning formula.
