MC Prussian Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 I'd say the Derby FA Cup game is massive, as it could act as a stepping stone either towards a rise from the ashes or pushing us further towards the brink of misery. Others have said it before: I can live with defeats, as well. But if the players can't be bothered to put in a decent performance, look confused and lacklustre, handing over the three points on a silver plate, then I have a problem. That gets me.

They are players not fans. Who we play has little bearing on the performance they give. Derby will mean feck all to most of our players.
walkerleeds Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 I think we'll beat Derby and Burnley then lose to Swansea and Man Utd.
lgfualol Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 Just hope Man U don't put 4 past us in the first half again. Probably will happen though. Morgan will be in tears by the end of the first 10 minutes.
Alf Bentley Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 I'd be happy with 2 points from the 3 league matches (draws at Burnley & Swansea) plus progress in the FA Cup. We need roughly a point per game for the rest of the season to stay up (maybe fractionally more) - and we're mainly likely to get those by winning home matches against weaker sides than Man Utd. A win at Swansea would be a massive boost, but I'd take a draw right now as a defeat to one of our relegation rivals would be a massive blow. Since the opening day, Burnley have only lost at home to Man City & Arsenal. A draw there would be an excellent result. On current form, I'd expect us to lose to the Sheep, but you never know.... Then, a couple of new signings, a couple of decent FA Cup draws and we could be walking down Wembley Way & into the Europa League...or maybe not.

The hostile atmosphere alone should affect the players performance.
Guest Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 All honesty Derby - Lose Burnley Draw Man U - Lose Swansea Draw
Daveaway Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 Swansea have Southampton Man City, Leicester then Chelsea, so not doom and gloom I would be more worried about Palace's up-coming fixtures
norwichfox Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 Just can't see too many positives coming any time soon unless the returning Mahrez and Slimani bring their "A" game back. Expecting away losses at Burnley and Swansea (it's what we do best), maybe a draw with Man United and I'm hoping for a draw at Derby followed by a KP win just to get more playing time for Ranieri to sort his fecking tactics out before the run in.

Guest Danny Clender Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 Derby = Win Burnley = Win Man U = Win Swansea = Win There, I've said it. Let's see how stupid I look on 5th Feb. I know the Swansea game is on the 12th, but if the 3 games up 'til then go as planned, I'll look stupid on the 5th.
foxy boxing Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 we need to be up for the Derby game and put in full shifts against Burnley and Swansea away, those three games are a must not lose!. if we lose against Burnley and Swansea then we really are in the ****.the threat of relegation needs to shock and wake up the players fast. we just can't afford to sleepwalk anymore. we need to be switched on totally for the rest of the season.
Ted Maul Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 Well this thread hasn't made me feel any better about things nightmare visions of us being 4-0 down to United after half an hour having not signed any defenders now...
kingcarr21 Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 9 points and progression in the cup. Then we will revisit this thread and wonder what all the worry was about
VLC86 Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 If we don't get 12 points from the above games I think he has to go.
sk3since03 Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 Derby=lose Burnley=lose Man U=draw Swansea=lose
ZeGuy Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 Based on current form: Derby = Draw Burnley = Loss Man U = Tonking Swansea = Loss If they turn up or Ranieri eventually decides to play Mahrez AND Gray with Slim upfront then: Derby = Win Burnley = Draw Man U = Loss Swansea = Draw
AyewJoking Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 derby win burnley draw man utd lose swansea win so that s 4 points and just hope teams below us dont catch up
filbertway Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 Derby - Win (As bad as we are, they really are pretty poor) Burnley - Draw. Ranieri will be panicking and send them out fighting, but you'd imagine we'd be outfought. Man U - Loss Ranieri will probably tell them not to worry as it's a hard game, so a nice comfortable loss Swansea - Win Wagner gets the boys firing in his first game as gaffer and we win 4-1. Dimmy, Mahrez, Vardy and Slimani banging in the goals. Wes Morgan kicks the ball against his own head and scores an own goal.
