Blanchflower78 Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 The next 4 games look like a defining period for both the team and manager. Derby away in Cup Burnley away Man Utd home Swansea away Whilst the cup is not priority, no-one will want to go out on tv to close rivals a league below (another opportunity for media to stick knife in). Burnley, always sounds winnable but they are fantastic at home. Utd, getting stronger, always a tough encounter, swansea away - 6 pointer. Still have my doubts about CR turning it round but im hoping he can and will. Should this go badly it leaves a 10 day window before Seville. What do people expect/feel about it? Heart says we can sort the shaggers out - past that im trying to look for positives... not losing at Burnley would give them a lift for sure. AFCON players back also? Surely we can turn this round?
AmarteyAndChill Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 We have to get 7 points from our next 3 games.
Stevosevic Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 Lose to Burnley and Swansea and we'll be in real shit. Zlatan will have an easy game versus Morgan and Huth.

Depends what happens below us in all honesty - 4 points may be okay as long as the gap doesn't close too much. What is important is to win a high percentage of our home games and we'll be okay.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 Burnley and Swansea are massive games. We need six points from those, nothing less.

HybridFox Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 I was hoping Swansea might be a potential away win but then seeing them at Anfield got me worried Never know with United, we've had our fair rub of the green with them at home. But it is a defining period for sure
Matt Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 0 Points. Obviously the FA Cup game has no points value...despite the boring joke Bert makes every cup game So i'm definetly going to be right there. Burnley away? They're great at home, we're shit away, they fight more than us, that isn't hard though. Man Utd home? There is going to be a massacre. Swansea away? See Burnley, Ok Swansea are not so great at home but our away form is enough to know we'll lose, add to fact they beat Liverpool and fight more than us. Then we've got Sevilla (A), Liverpool (H), Hull (H), Arsenal (A), Sevilla (H), West Ham (A)....Honestly, this isn't me just as a pessimist, I am struggling to see our next win! Even Hull at home? Between now and then alot of things can change but in this current form, could we beat Hull? I can't see it. They gave Chelsea a game yesterday, lost 2-0 but we'd have been hammered.

The only predictable thing about football is its unpredictability. How many times have we seen teams suddenly from nowhere find some form when they seemed down and out (see Swansea at the weekend). Cant guarantee it is going to happen but can't think of anything else I can use to put a positive spin on the present nightmare. We live in hope.

whetstonefox Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 I'm just waiting for the great escape 2 - we'll end up having to win our last 6 games!

Yes I remember the mood of this forum just before Man City at home. We might just decide to turn up one game and then anything can happen. That's the thing that makes me so angry, what we're capable of when we try. Realistically though we're gonna get dicked by a Championship club and fvcking Burnley in the next 2 games. How sad is that?
bigDfox33 Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 Dont worry guys mahrez and slimani are back soon to save the day..

Nod.E Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 Personally I'm resigned to a sh*te run now. Happy to be proved wrong but our away form combined with the names we're set to face at home does not bode well. It will get worse before it gets better. It will take us to get right in the sh*t to give us something to play for, by which point the fixture list will look a bit brighter.
coolhandfox Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 Can't see more then 1-3 pts, time for people to smell the coffee and realise we are in deep trouble!

We only beat Man City because Pep refused to think he should adjust to lowly opposition such as us. No other manager in the Premier League will be so irresponsible. We are easy to shut down, so every team will do it.
Brooksy Posted 23 January 2017 Posted 23 January 2017 4 losses I fear. Burnleys home form is decent and we've all seen how useless we are away from home so they'll turn us over quite comfortably I feel. Man U goes without saying and Swansea are proper shite but at least show some fight unlike us and their win at Anfield could see them kick on. Wouldn't be surprised if we're in the bottom 3 after these.
KrefelderFox666 Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 Derby in the Cup - we should win this but it is going to be really difficult. I hope this can be our turning point Burnley Away - no points, no chance. We are poor away, Burnley are fantastic at home. Man U Home - I am hoping we can get a point from this Swansea Away - even though we are poor away this should be 3 points. Summary, 4 points and progress in the FA Cup (even if it takes a replay).
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 If our players can't get up for the Derby game then they'll never get up for any game, I hope it'll kick start our season which will take us into the Burnley game.
