Not strengthening where it was obvious in the summer.

Not strengthened now when it was even more bleeding obvious Stevie Wonder could tell us where we are struggling.

So you'd sign anyone, at any price asked?

Exactly this. If someone could enlighten me, that would be great as all I've seen is crap speculation as to what he is ultimately (and specifically) responsible for and what his team are responsible for.

No, I've said in that in the OP but if they've identified players they seriously want and think are right then go for them.

7th highest net spend in the last 5 years premier league years... and we've only been in the league for 2.5 of those 5.

This stuff about being tight is nonsense.

Who does then?  The Tea Lady at Belvoir Drive?

I dont know who exactly, but there is a team of people who negotiates the deals. He just identifies the targets and says who he wants in. then sanctions the deals...

This place right now reminds me of my Facebook after brexit or when trump got in lots of people who are angry but not sure why or who to direct it at.

Seems to be the modern way. We're protesting but at what we're unsure of.

Didn't Ranieri say he did that in one of his press conferences the other day?

There's something a bit Lord of the Flies about all this Rudkin stuff.

Maybe the odd poster has some personal knowledge to make a properly informed decision but there's plenty who are just scrambling to join the bandwagon.

Ffs. Nobody knows the facts, nobody really knows what has gone on.  But (nearly) everybody always looks for someone to blame.

It's what I hate most about modern life.

Mainly cos I'm often the one people blame in my circles!

If he's doing a bad job he will be dealt with by his bosses, who have a much better view of his performance than we do.

And Rudkin is the only reason we haven't signed them?

What about the possibility that the player didn't want to come here or their club didn't want to sell?Or they were asking for a ridiculous fee/wages?How about it's nobody's fault?

Yes.  Rudkin has to work out who is available, talks, in some part, to the agents, ect. Sometimes it can be difficult to work out who is actually representing the players. Several agents can call up and claim to represent a player and claim to be able to facilitate the transfer. But the actual negotiating he is not a part of..

Our business is a bit reactive rather than proactive. We lost N'golo and than seemed to look for a replacement. We spend most of the summer adding to other positions but are left with a championship defence.

I dont know if one man can be blamed for this. the transfer deadline day is when most deals will come to the forefront. It makes good tv, sells papers. The only thing that we can really criticise the club for is the amount of rejected bids. There seems to be very little research as to what will get the deal done.

We seem to have gone from a very well run football club. To one on par with West Ham and Sunderland.

I sincerely Ely hope that this is just teething problems till Macia/ranieri and Rudkin work out how to work together.

When Steve Walsh made it no secret that he wished to progress in his role, i would like to know the reasoning for not promoting him to Director of football and not 're-assigning' Rudkin to a different position.

This I agree with. It's a question which maybe we will not know the answer to. Walsh earnt his right to be given whatever bloody role he wanted. More often than not he recommended players who were a success for minimal expenditure and massive returns.

You move on to other targets.

I think it's abit naive to think we only have 1 or 2 targets, i'm sure there is a shortlist of quite a few players.

I dont think Rudkin does either. He just spends his time with his nose up Vichai's bum.

We have, we've signed 2 players.
