adejo92 Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Absolute embarrassment again. Wasn't even a good Man Utd performance. Atleast when Swansea turn us over it will all but seal our fate. Shit atmosphere, shit performance. Bring on Barnsley away.

Yeah, but just think how many teams we can sing "Champions of England, you'll never be that" to. Leeds, Newcastle, Forest, Villa, Derby, Preston. The list is endless.
oxtonfox Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 C'mon adejo92 - look on the bright side :-) We have been in a worse position than this one before in the last 10 years. The problem with these repeated pummellings on the pitch is that we are now behaving like a drunken staggering heavyweight boxer. Our manager and players don't make much sense when they talk. We need something strong to bring us round. However when if we lose to Derby (I could say nothing more than a sparring partner as they are in the league below) then we will know it's time to hang up our gloves.

adejo92 Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Loosing isn't my issue. All teams loose. My issue is that every game we play football suicide. We would struggle in the championship with this squad.
Mike Oxlong Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 The defence simply cannot cope with movement. Faced with any sort of mobile threat they look like statues with their feet and their brains stuck in concrete. If we continue with this back four I can't see us staying up. Goals against has been shocking but week after week Hugh and Morgan play, probably as there is no alternative which in itself is scandalous. Again we huffed and puffed but again lacked any creativity. De Gea had one comfortable save to make. That apart, a yellow card was as action packed as his afternoon got. The best we could have hoped for was a 0-0 as we never looked like scoring. They could easily haven had 2-3 more with Kasper making a number of good saves and their players blazing over free shots from within the penalty box. Vardy, Drinkwater and Mahrez add nothing to the team at the moment. Drinkwater wastes possession with his attempted long balls and looks like he'd prefer to be anywhere else but on the pitch, Mahrez shows glimpses of his ability but doesn't seek or get enough of the ball and Vardy might as well not be on the pitch for what he adds. But Ranieri obviously thinks we have nothing better. Bright spot was N'didi. Hope he's here next season with better players around him. Also Gray actually showed that he does have a football brain by making better decisions than we have seen previously.
Thracian Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Fancy us getting it so wrong that we only have one option at centre-forward. Shinji's never a striker. Ulloa's still not involved due to internal mishandling. Slimani's supposedly injured. Which leaves just Vardy between us and relegation. Oh yes, and the challenge of trying to score more Premiership goals than the "Nil" we scored in January for a 7-0 losing aggregate overall. Ironically, the way February's started we may "beat" that and lose by an even bigger margin. Could we count that as a "win" of sorts, in case we don't get a proper one before season's end? . And what are the odds on Vardy not scoring again for the rest of the campaign? Or even the team not scoring. We might make history again after all.

No goals in almost 9 hours. 1 in the last 10 and a half. You're posting some quality tonight mate. Genuinely didn't know that. I'm guessing the difference must be the numbers of goals we've conceded (whilst not scoring) which I'm assuming are a lot more under Ranieri than Pearson?
reynard Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 I am not depressed, I'm not resigned to relegation, though it looks likely, I'm not even sad that the side that gave me the best times I've ever had watching Leicester appear to have forgotten how to play. I'm bloody angry. Angry that the once in a club's history chance to really take a giant step forward has been flushed down the toilet by incompetence and mis-managment from top to bottom. How on earth can a side that won the title by ten points turn into this embarrasing shambles of a club that doesn't look like it will gain a single point more this season. The manager is clearly clueless and should have been sacked at the start of November. He has no tactics and no inspiration. He stands on the touchline with his hands out and palms down. What the f*** does that mean. He used to talk to his assistant throughout the match. Now Shakespeare is an invisible man during the mathces. What the f*** is that about. The recruitment has been so bad that incompetent doesn't do it justice. Players "not ready" according the manager. What the hell is that about? Mendy, waste of money, Musa, waste of money, Hernandez, waste of time and on and on it goes. Frankly if we had kept Inler we would have done better. Why on earth didn't we recruit a couple of players used to playing in the Prmeier League? Don't say we didn't have the money as we've clearly wasted many millions. The youth set up and under 23s is a disgrace. How long has the same person been running this and how many players of note have we produced? Virtually none in the last ten years: Pathetic! Rudkin should go. The players should be ashamed. They aren't good enough not to try harder. There's no effort and no belief, no leadership, no never say die spirit and virtually no quality. Considering we have invested over 70 million in the first team squad there are serious questions to be asked of why the manager can't do anything with them. Too much time on social media and not enough time concentrating on what they are all paid a considerable fortune to try and do. What happens in training? Our set pieces are terrible they show no creativity and absolutely no quality. The manager and coaches should be improving players not making them worse. How many players can Ranieri claim to have imporved with any degree of truth. The answer is none. As to the match. Well done to Utd. The chasm in quality and effort was so wide it was impossible to see us ever competing with sides like them ever again. We were ok for 30 minutes but after their first goal that was that. Virtually no shots and not enough effort. Not tactics, no plan B and virtually no plan A. Still the manager thought we played well and the two players he took off at half time also played well according to him. Lose against Derby and he should walk.
nnfox Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Kasper - Keep Fuchs - Keep for now Huth -Keep for now Wes - Get rid. How he is captain is beyond me Simpson - keep, but get some competition in Musa - keep but give him the ball more Ndidi - Keep, he looks a gem of a player Drinkwater - Get rid. Looks lost. Mahrez - Get rid Okazaki - keep Vardy - Get rid. Wouldn't pay him 100k a year
CPW22 Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 For overall quality of performances, player attitude and fan feeling this is the lowest I can recall us being since we went down to league one. Today was just the same shite on another day. Even in the 40 minutes at 0-0 we didn't look a threat going forward. As soon as United went 2 up it was game over. I'm not sure where we go from here.

I think the most apt comparison is the second season under Peter Taylor. And we all know how that ended.

Get rid.
iamafox Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Wasn't expecting a win today but I wanted to see more effort from the players and yet again they failed to deliver. We all know that's going to be the recurring theme until the end of the season (and beyond) unless we make a managerial change now.
nnfox Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 It was ok at 0-0. I thought we were competing and despite not creating anything of note, thought we were in with a chance but it's evident that the confidence is so fragile. As soon as they scored you could sense the players knew they were getting no points from the game. Thought it finished 3-0 because United wanted it to finish 3-0 for some reason. Could have been a cricket score if they wanted it to be.
henry's horn Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Is is too late to bring back Muzzy Izzet, Gary Linekar and Frank Sinclair back?

When i say keep, I mean keep at the club, not necessarily in the starting xi. When I say get rid, I mean sell/allow to leave/sack.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Vardy is dogshit. RID. Simpson tries but is dogshit. GO.
Koke Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 3 years of facing Mourinho and he still calls us Lie-chester ffs
BenTheFox Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 I regularly travel over two hours each way to home games. Funny enough I'm not feeling as low as I was on Tuesday night after a difficult trip to Burnley and a horrendous transfer window. Gray and N'Didi are the only players that deserve credit after that. I love the club. It really hurts watching players that are supposed to be club legends in this position. Seeing the man who led us to glory looking this frustrated and demoralised is painful.
