However bad you think it is....

Apart from the season we got promoted and of course the season we were in League 1, I think i worked out our average Championship finish was 12th. It certainly felt mediocre and midtable when we were going through it. with the exception of a season or two here and there (post MON days and pre 2014)

We finished 13th under Taylor, but that wasn't a standard season- Champions League chasing form for about 5 months, before completely falling apart. After that- relegation, promotion, relegation.

We had 3 really boring midtable years between 2004-2007 (although regularly needing a late season run to pull clear of relegation), followed by the worst year in our history and subsequent League 1 title win, before going out of the play-offs in comical fashion.

The 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons weren't exactly standard midtable seasons either- our form fluctuated wildly. In those 2 seasons, we were bottom of the league after 9 games and dragged ourselves to the brink of the play-offs before falling away again, and became the richest club in the division (remaining true to form by completely wasting our money). We then went out of the play-offs in even more comical fashion the following season after scoring a last-minute goal at local rivals to seal our place.

That period certainly wasn't mediocre or boring lol

What has happened to this football club from the Forest game onwards is truly staggering;

- Last minute winner at local rivals (where we hadn't won in the league for 30 years) to put us in the play-offs

- A stoppage time penalty away from Wembley- we miss and concede within 20 seconds- one of the most ridiculous moments in the history of football

- A title-winning Championship season in which countless club records were broken

- The greatest great escape in PL history following a disappointing campaign (which had contained one of our greatest ever results in the 5-3 win over United)

- Our first top flight title, against the longest single odds in sporting history

- Our first CL campaign amid the backdrop of a total domestic collapse and seemingly inevitable relegation

A brilliant and terrible club to follow in equal measure, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

The memory of a football fan has always been short, but never ever forget the last 10+ years at Leicester City.

Our club has given me some of the highest highs and the lowest lows in my 30 years of following this truly wonderful club.

This season has been very poor, players have gone missing, cracks have started to appear and the management of the entire things has been questionable at best - however, sometimes i think people forget just how enormous our recent achievements have been and although it is horrendous to see us on the slide we're currently on, as a true Leicester City fan, we are still in a much better place than where we've been for the majority of my lifetime.

- WE WON THE PREMIER LEAGUE (How on earth did we do that!)

- We are in the knock out stages of the Champions League (Leicester City?! - I'm still dreaming)

- We are still in the FA cup

- We are not (yet) doomed to relegation

- We have solid owners and good finances (When was the last time in many decades you could say that?)

- We have, no matter how poor this season, a solid squad

- We have a manager who deserves nothing but respect

- We've won the Championship & League One titles in recent years

- We used to be a mediocre mid-table championship side (at best)

- We used to be in financial ruins

- We used to have an awful squad of very poor players

- We used to chop and change managers like the Scottish weather

The club has grown from strength to strength in recent years and i just think that sometimes people are never happy - we won what is arguably the biggest competition in club football, i still can't believe it and no matter what happens, we will see brighter days again AND we will always have this.......

I love our club

You're right.

I think that it's the way in which it has all gone sour - and so quickly - that's so disappointing.

When someone close to you is sick, you try in anyway possible to help them beat the illness. If they die, it is then that you use the memories of all the good times you had together to cope and heal. Right now Leicester are on the verge of being relegated, my concern right now is Leicester staying up, If we go down I'll employ the method that Leeds, Derby, Forest, Blackburn et all use and mend the horror with the good times we had. Until then shut up about last year, it's not helping the right now.

Personally for me, if we can avoid relegation this season I'll go ahead and mark it as a very successful two years for this football organization. Like you said, in 2 years we won the league, we're in the knockout stages of the Champions League, and we have a solid team to build on. This needs to be a learning curve year for the players and hopefully next season they can come out stronger and more mature.

Not another one of these type of threads. I'm convinced people are doing them for the rep points. And people fall for it every bloody time

lol

Your Right Col. This is the " always look on the bright side of life " bit. Better known as Ostrich corner. Sorry but we have absolutely nothing to be happy about, we don't even have a glimmer of hope now the owners have said they are sticking with Clownio .

As great as last season was the championship and div1 yes. But at 51yo I like last season will shed a tear if we go down. And no I'm not ashamed to admit that.

Anyone that takes the piss out of that don't understand my love for the club. I watched Chelsea spuds at home as I knew I'd shed tears of joy then went out.

was asked in my local why I did not watch the game in the pub. That was why. Had it been in our hands I would of but tears for a Chelsea game sorry No.

To add to that any fan from another club sayin stop moaning you have never been in our situation so I have two words for you.

FVCK OFF.

Worry about your own sh1t not us or ours.

I had to spend a few minutes trying to work out what "rep points" were tbh. As someone who does not have any form of social media, if you gain pleasure from the amount of likes you receive then I'd suggest looking for a deeper meaning in life.

In fact, seeing as the negativity from some is unbelievable I'd suggest it anyway.

Guess I'm not a glass half empty type of person but then again those responses are from a typical leicester fan of old really. Shame

I think it's the fear that after all those positives, realistically we are in a poor position and we're all worried that despite all of the positives that have happened and are still happening, in the cold light of day we are in danger of returning to all the negatives you listed.

Jeez I'm being a miserable bugger tonight!

We could easily be them next season. The attitude of the team needs to urgently change.  Worried we will be left with players collecting a pay cheque rather than the team we all thought was being built.

Going to be a crucial summer for this club if we go down.

Even if we do manage to stay up I think we'll have an important summer.

Whole club from top to bottom needs a clear out manager, dof, players, youth coaches the lot could do with going.

Over the last few days I've moved into a rather more sanguine mood. I've been in denial over relegation, but having watched the games over the last few weeks it now feels inevitable, and I am less uptight.

However it is not actually inevitable, despite the evidence being presented to us.  A third of the season remains. Sure we can only sit on the sidelines, but if we are to go down, let's not go down with a whimper. Let's not just sing when we're winning.

Lets make a noise for our club when we play Liverpool, not necessarily for the players or Claudio, but for the Leicester we love. Whilst what's happening to us is an embarrassment,     we can still enhance our reputation as awesome supporters. And if we can create a wall of sound, perhaps it will inspire one of our little darlings to bang a thirty yarder into the top corner.
