dayday Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Was told yesterday if Leicester go down, the players given the big pay rises lose 40% of there salary if we go down, is this right?
st albans fox Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Mahrez will leave anyway so he doesn't really care drinkwater would get a move aswell so he probably won't care either. We could refuse to sell him though as opposed to Riyad where I believe we accept he will be going. vardy - can't believe that no one would take a chance on him but again we could refuse to sell. however, as this season has shown with Riyad, keeping a player who would rather be elsewhere isn't usually a great policy. Kasper - would it be fair for us to deny him a move ? Can't think anyone else had a big enough rise to warrant a 40% drop.

W88DY Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Yes it`s true and only to right, I don`t think it applies to all that signed the new contract but anyway there is a clause in place that states if we get relegated they will have to take a 40% deduction in their wage !
StanSP Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 i think some players have got confused with these clauses and now believe they should only put in maximum 40% effort and you'll still get paid.
filthyfox Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 We should refuse to let any of these twats (apart from Kasper) to leave. Let them suffer the fate they share with the club they put there.

So they get to stay in the prem on their big fat salary? they were a big part of getting us promoted so they should help do the same again. it's an argument and the owners will think it makes sense if the wages are affordable.
foxfanazer Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Can we merge this with the things to be positive about thread. Cheered me right up
ian_marshall Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 So if we go down we'll be paying Vardy £60k in the Championship. Whoever signed that off within the management team needs to be held accountable. Awful negotiating.

Especially considering he only signed a new £70k per week one in February (you know, before angling for a move to Arsenal and pushing for a salary bump to £100k). So if we go down then he's on £60k per week which is only £10k less than he was after his first bumper new contract and probably over double what he was on last time we were there.
Spicer Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Kasper, Slimani and Mahrez will get clubs coming for them. Possibly Drinkwater, mostly as he has a few years left. I'm unsure with Vardy, he physically is ideal (athletic, fast) but he is over 30. Okazaki and Ulloa had interest. Morgan and Huth, no chance. Fuchs is captain of Austria so I think he would get a club.

Should never have promoted him.
FireFox Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Pretty sure I heard there is like a 20% reduction if we aren't in the Champions League too.
splinterdream Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Our transfer policy has been garbage and someone should get sacked but I would feel hypocritical for knocking anyone about Vardy's contract as I was a fan saying pay him what he wants. I was so desperate he didn't go to Arsenal. I thought he'd score 20+ goals in the Prem for the next few years
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 But who will take Riyad. If you're one of the big four or even Spurs, is really that appealing? He's a one season wonder. A Michael Ricketts of the modern era. I don't think the club will sell cheap and there's no tournament football for him to rely on to get a move like Sissoko did.

Left footed right winger that can get double digits in goals and assists, ohh there will be interested clubs. Spurs (if the sources are correct) came for him in the winter because they know it is their best chance of landing him. In the summer Chelsea and arsenal will come for him and you will see the true level of the "one season wonder"
EGBFitness Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Expect a 40% reduction in season ticket prices too
EGBFitness Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 I'm amazed how so many have such an ignorant view on some of the players... who will come in for Mahrez? He was ****ing PFA player of the year last May! African player of the year, full international, left footed winger, young age with huge ability and still potential. I'm sure Chelsea fans was asking the same about Hazard last year
