Not to mention the number of targets what we've missed out on which is probably the reason the signings have been poor. If I was duty free billionaire that owned Leicester City I'd be throwing a few million a year in Les Reed's direction, I'm not sure if he'd come here but potentially somebody like that can save and earn a club a few hundred million pounds.

We were very keen on O'Neill, Hiddink and after both ruled themselves out it was Neil Lennon who was interviewed. Thankfully The Don made his interest known and was then swiftly recruited.

I can't remember anyone complaining when we signed these players, but you're right, the fact that Slimani has an injury is all down to Rudkin

There was lots of talk in the summer about us going after Paul Mitchell, in fact at one point it seemed a done deal but it never seemed to materialise. Worked with Pochettino at Southampton and he rated him so much, took him to Spurs.
