easilee Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Do you think we should get Pearson in as Shakey's number two?
Magictv Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Just arrived back home in Bristol, what a match, what an atmosphere, what a night! Well worth the driving. Get in!!!!
Jattdogg Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 A day my youngest bro will never forget. Big win and he had his colonoscopy today. He definitely took one for the team today haha. Wooooooooooooooooohawwww
daddylonglegs Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Theres a tweet tonight with the photo of the flag saying 'Thank you Leicester City for nights like this'. The first reply from a bitter Arsenal fan 'Thank you Ranieri more like!!' Not usually arsed about stuff like this but tonight I want to tell this bloke to fck off. Genuinely **** off. From someone who is a serious admirer of Ranieri - and someone hugely grateful for his commitment to our club - I still want to say **** off. This is the players and the clubs achievement this evening. The fans. The staff. The owners. Kasper Schmeichel made the penalty saves - not Ranieri. Fuchs put in tackle after tackle this evening - not Ranieri. Morgan & Huth won every header out there this evening and throughout the group stages - not Ranieri. Ndidi completely bossed the game out there - not Ranieri. Albrighton slammed the ball into the bottom corner tonight - not Ranieri. Okazaki, for all his on the ball faults - ran his socks off like he does every game. - not Ranieri Vardy worked his absolute arse off this evening and got the crucial away goal - not Ranieri. I understand the sympathy toward Ranieri - of course I do. He is one of the best things to happen to this football club. But comments like that take away from the achievement of our players this evening and the fans. We have Ranieri to thank for being at the top table - but we have the players and the staff to thank for keeping us there.

It is not good that is for sure, but with each passing game even the media and pundits are starting to see why we had to change... the back stabbing rubbish does have to stop, Ranieri will be forever remembered for sure but the players which we has fans could see were clearly being instructed to not play the football they enjoy. The high pressing game was gone, vardy being told to not run after everything etc... this we could all see.

The players are the real heroes for me, and the job that those behind the scenes have done since Pearson's time here seems to have been outstanding. I'm sure (well, I really hope) the players know that we don't share the same opinion of the fvcking bellends who have done nothing but discredit them lately and heap all the praise on Ranieri. I love them all
foxes_rule1978 Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Just noticed on BBC... 29% possession never felt like that more shots, more on target and better chances... yes this was a performance ripped out of a script from last season

Which means that the second half was likely 80%+ for Sevilla! But it doesn't matter. How many clear cut chances did they really make? Even their penalty was highly questionable. Our two banks of four are one of the best in Europe (recently) alongside Atletico Madrid. You can see how hard it is for teams to break us down. And honestly both Vardy and Slimani should have scored down the other end. Anyway no need to complain, a truly magical night!!!
Guy Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 If the owners wanted any vindication for their so called 'controversial' decision to sack Ranieri when they did last month then look no further than the last three games now! Without wanting to speak too soon because of our 'still perilous' position in the league, then happy days are here again to date! Shakespeare has seemingly returned the feel good factor and confidence back in the side with his selections/tactics, for sure....

No disrespect for CR. But just look how things have changed since he has gone
biggs Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 still buzzing....think my son and me put a dent in the floor jumping up and down together after the final whistle. felt like I played 90 minutes with them what a day....the energy of last year has resurfaced
The Padster Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 I finally get home at gone 5am. I will never live another night like this. Thank you players, thank you owners, thank you other fans. Xxx It was my birthday today and blacking out for a few seconds cause I celebrated too hard when Albrighton got the second was the best present in my 31 years following City. That even beats Claridges shinner for me, I'm emotionally drained. God save the queen? Nah mate, god save the Premier League, We're the famous Leicester City and we're coming for you!!!!
Finnegan Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 When I got home I watched some of it again on BT, mostly just fast forwarding to incidents I couldn't quite make out (the red card was at the other end) and Ian Darke (who made a few slightly off comments) remarked that it was Ranieri that got us in the Champions League by winning the league. I had to stare at the TV a little mystified for a minute. He's obviously not the first to make the assertion but it's just barmy. To riff off the poster above, it wasn't Ranieri that broke Premier League records for consecutive goals, wasn't Ranieri that chased down and tackled every loose ball, wasn't Ranieri that put three Villa defenders on their arse with one turn. Love the man and he deserves a lot of praise for last year but he's still only man cog in a massive machine that lifted the trophy.
TheLittleBigMan Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 As a Leicester fan, that was by far and away the worst game i've ever seen - seriously.
Guest Col city fan Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 People pining for Ranieri are a little like those who kept pining for Sven after he left, albeit on a lesser scale. Accept it, for fooks sake. He'd lost the plot. The players didn't have a clue what they were doing, they clearly didn't want to be doing what he was asking them and all was FAR from well. Hes been sacked and now we are looking safer in the league and we put in a performance like last night. Only the very barmy, imo, will continue to argue that this wasn't the right thing to do at this present time.

Probably the best team we've ever had but definitely the most memorable. Your grandchildren's kids will know all about Vardy, Mahrez, Schmeichel and co. I only go back 60 years, but definitely the best one we've had during that time. Well, apart from the one with Trevor Benjamin, Ade Akinbiyi and Junior Lewis.

I didn't like the decision, and still don't, but I recognised the situation we were in and accepted the sense in it. But tonight isn't about that, or him. I've not spoken to anyone lately who isn't grateful for what he did for us, but it's clear to see what the decision has done - right or wrong. Its time to move forward. Last night was about the players on the pitch and our game plan, which was absolutely faultless.
Nuneatonfox in Manchester Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 What a night! Well worth the travelling and Hangover Albrighton, Ndidi and the back four absolutely bossed it. Mahrez grafted and should have had 2-3 assists, some great low crosses as well. He takes a lot of stick from the people sat near me for being too casual, but is there anyone else you would rather have running at defenders in a counter attack? His final pass is always near perfect. Laid it on a plate for Vards and Slim which they both should have buried.
rn9013 Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 What a night!! I'm still buzzing and I don't think I'll stop smiling all week! The fans to a man were outstanding last night. I'm only a member so don't have the exact same seat every game but I always sit in the same area in G2 and none of us sat down for the whole game. Everyone, even people that don't normally, were on their feet singing their hearts out from the start. We were a credit to the club last night, just as the players were on the pitch. Just sat here contemplating my journey back up north, and it's nice to remember just why we do it. Incredible.

Crazy Kop Corner Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 It will definitely be a 'I' was there' game in years to come. Simply exhilarating and an absolute joy to share it with 30,000 like beauty souls.

I've noticed a lot of people changing their views on the Ranieri sacking. Even Savage said on commentary that he thought the owners had been vindicated. Some people will just not let it go however. They can't stand the thought that little old Leicester are doing this and have to justify it by saying it was all down to our previous manager. A lot of it was. Not all of it. Most people have moved on. Some people obviously can't.
