Finnaldo Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 I'm not gonna lie, I was really enjoying it up till we scored!! But what's not been said already? The atmosphere was unreal. Last time I sat in the Family Stand was about 10 years ago with me before I moved over to L1 and went with my stepdad. I say sat, everyone I could see was on there feet in virtual hysterics for the majority of the game, it was probably louder last nigh then it ever was in L1 when I was there from 2008-09 to 2011-12. The palce was absolutely rocking. The players? Astounding. Kasper and/or Fuchs I'm tempted for MOTM but taht's not to say it was 9/10s all round. I'll always remember last night. All those years ago sat in roughly the same spot watching us get a bore draw as we slummed it out in the lower reaches of the Championship. Ten years past we're giving the third best team in Spain a pasting for 60 minutes, then controlling the game in a way only the defending Champions of England can do. Last eight. UN-FVCKING-REAL.
foxy boxing Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 what an unbelievable night, absolutely amazing and incredible. the players were magnificent and stood strong throughout the match with big Wes and Huth, Fuchs and Simpson staying strong and were like a brick wall in defence as well as dangerous in the opposition penalty area with free kicks. fantastic goal by Wes which I think took everyone by surprise and a great finish by Albrighton for the second. we had a lot of defending to do as you would expect in the match with balls constantly being put into the penalty area by Sevilla but we dealt with each one superbly. the penalty decision against Kasper was a bit harsh but he once again came to the rescue with such a magnificent save and to keep a clean sheet against a very good European side is nothing short of brilliance and I cannot heap enough praise on all the players, they deserve it all. congratulations foxes and I cant wait to see who we get in the next round
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 It's nights like these which make the memories, UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals. Sheer adulation; what a night, what an atmosphere. That's right up there; in fact I'd say the best match I've ever been to. It was an absolute heroic performance from this group of players, I've never seen a display of such desire and battle like that.

Crazy Kop Corner Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 These players have been larger crap this season it has to be said but for sheer guts and determination they are a very special bunch of players and you can't do anything but have total admiration for them. It's not fair to have stand outs and you think Schmeichel but how about Fuchs ....... then there's Ndidi ........ but I've forgotten Albrighton ......... but how about Vardy and it continues. Staggering performance and the 12th man were great as well.
CosbehFox Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 On the train to Hull first game of the season, I said 12th and CL Quarter-Finals. I just had the feeling after the first leg that we'd do it, it was written and the story didn't include Sevilla. You don't survive the woodwork and a penalty save without it being written. Then add the antics of the Spanish police in Seville (you know strangling 24 year old females with batons FFS) and I haven't wanted to win a game as much in a long time. What I loved about? We showed everyone what English football is about. The high tempo, the second ball, the frenzied atmosphere. For years, we've seen English teams in European competition and the national team try some continental style but then get picked apart. You can't replace effort or teamwork. We completely did them in that sense and the body language of their players said bottle gone. Vardy being a snappy bledder, he had one of their centre backs already crying before he got Nasri carded. We were the team intimidating them and don't let any silly plastic fan tell you otherwise, that was one of the finest European victories from an English club in the past five years. This is all little Englander I agree but my point is that we played a game what was our game. Our natural game in a hotbed atmosphere. If the opposition get through it, fair play but if you underestimate us (which every bit of Seville media or interview did), you'll get done.

foxinsocks Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 can we have a statue ... fans waving goodbye to nasri?
Callabinho Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 I was quite relaxed about last night. I thought we would win comfortably....which we did really, nothing different last night to what we did last season. So I was able to enjoy the game and fully soak in what was an increadible atmosphere and an increadible evening. We've got our Leicester back.

Monsell1976 Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 We're on our way to the last 8, how we get there......... don't sound right might need a new one
Number 6 Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Was a great joy to finally get our KP moment too... Championship promotion confirmed when not playing. Great escape confirmed at SOL. Title confirmed when Chelsea played Spurs. Was the best full time celebration I can remember.
Corky Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Fantastic night, made all the shit games and miserable trips worth it. I think we'll fall at the next stage but hey ho, we're there and I didn't expect to be after the draw. Just really pleased with how we are playing, the team is committed and on the front foot which always looks better. All of them can have a high rating because it was a real team effort. And the crowd were magnificent, the noise after the second goal will stay for a very long time.
CosbehFox Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Also full credit to the Sevilla fan on here what said his team are experts at defensively closing out games. I said he'd have a shock if we went full tilt.
purpleronnie Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Even after a night like last night some pundits are so belittling. Sky sports pundits saying 'everything went right for Leicester last season teams taking points off each other etc.. and its a similar thing happening in the champions league, everything has gone their way'. If this had been Utd or Chelsea they would be wetting themselves for weeks over it. We won the league, we have now got to the quarter finals of the champions league, it has nothing to do with luck. Never really signed up to the top 4 bias, but last night they almost seemed depressed that we had gone through. Part of me believes it's because they all thought we shouldn't have sacked Ranieri and now we've won every game since then they can't bare being wrong.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 A superb performance, and result. It will be exciting to see who we play next. Bring 'em on!
Corky Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 What happened to Simpson in the first half when he was lying injured for about a minute?

TheSomersetFox Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Enormity of how great last night was still hasn't sunk in really. Saving a bloody penno ffs. Just unreal
Amin Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 2 post match threads exactly 2 years apart, what a difference in our fortunes. If someone had shown me this article on that day I genuinely don't think my brain would have been capable of comprehending anything within it. Sometimes I have to take a few steps back to understand the enormity of what our club has achieved over these last 2 years.
maddog Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Fuchs was immense, the best left back in the world last night. I'm convinced Ranieri must have been eating his packed lunch for him to be so bad before. Of all the transformations in the post Ranieri era Fuchs's is the widest.
MC Prussian Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 4 hours ago, Corky said: What happened to Simpson in the first half when he was lying injured for about a minute? I thought it was a pretty harmless encounter with N'Zonzi. Simpson basically tripped over his own leg whilst on a move forward, I couldn't make out too much contact in the replay.
