How on earth can that be similar to openly claiming Theresa May has links to Saudi extremists? She buries reports on Saudi terror funding, ignores the fact that 15 of the 9/11 terrorists were Saudi, that Saudi Arabian clerics are spreading a particurlary hateful form of Islam around the world, that Saudi Arabia is bombing innocent people in Yemen and in spite of all of this still allows arms to be sold to the Saudis. By association, Theresa May has links to Saudi extremists.

Can you not see the irony of claiming May has links to Saudi's as libelous and then posting the Sun article which almost certainly has as little foundation? You may not have offered a choice Matt, but I think we all know your reasoning for "putting it out there" along with the e-mail on the other page.

From my memory a few years ago you were quite happy to claim anyone was racist who claimed we had a warped version of Islam being spread around Britain. Where has she ignored the hijackers or buried a report? The report isn't even out yet.

Simi Posted 7 June 2017 Posted 7 June 2017 Abbott being replaced due to "illness" Would a stronger move have been for Corbyn to fire her? Or an open goal for Tories to claim incompetence?
Guest MattP Posted 7 June 2017 Posted 7 June 2017 3 minutes ago, Steven said: Convenient. Maybe we should just wait until it is suppressed? Rather than claiming it's going to be and therefore accusing the PM of having extremist links.
lgfualol Posted 7 June 2017 Posted 7 June 2017 May will bury or alter that report like she does with all reports that have results she doesn't like.

I posted the Sun bit last night and replied to the May post this morning.

If there were no links between Saudi Arabia and funding for radical Clerics across the world then I suggest it would have been completed and published. It was due in 2016.

Rincewind Posted 7 June 2017 Posted 7 June 2017 Some might think that the Sun buried the report for May by bringing the Corbyn story out. They deem it to be more important and deflects people's minds away from May. Also a top Met police office has criticised the government for slashing the number of police and has said he warned that this would increase the threat of attacks. May at the time said it was scaremongering. There have been 5 attacks in that time. Should not the Sun be reporting on this? I think you can tell by the words in the headline urging people to vote Tory because of the article that they do not want the other news known. Smacks of desperation.

These attacks will happen and will continue whoever is in charge or whatever resources are put forward over the next five years. Absolutely right Matt .... although everybody seems to want to focus on your comments about Saudi Arabia.
davieG Posted 7 June 2017 Posted 7 June 2017 I don't think I care anymore, it's like watching a Holloway relegation season where there have been great opportunities to score positive points but all we're getting is miss kicks, own goals and desperate excuses. I think it's time to take Holloway's staring relegation in the face advice and to chill out and have a sandwich.
Strokes Posted 7 June 2017 Posted 7 June 2017 Also those claiming May has links to Saudi extremist, they are aware that Demi god Barack Obama was dealing with the same people right? If we are going to be snooty who we do trade deals with over tenuous links, we might as well push ahead with brexit and become isolated and remove all foreign aid whilst we at it.

If so the next 5 years are gonna be pretty good.
Nick Posted 7 June 2017 Posted 7 June 2017 Replacing Abbott is smart for a number of reasons - firstly she's beyond poor, secondly it puts the headlines in Labour's court and lastly shows Corbyn to have a bit of judgement and backbone and paves the way for a positive replacement that might sway the undecided voters.

I'm surprised they waited to the last day to ditch her to be honest

Lin Brown though is a tough talking Londoner who certainly has a bit about her - she'll go down well I think.
