Maybe I haven't had my finger on the pulse 100% but just learned about Labours Land tax proposals if what I have read is true that would be disastrous for most homeowners , could mean a rise of over 1k annualy for me. If the intention is to whack homeowners in the South East and London there are a lot of home owners who are asset rich but cash poor sounds a fcuking awful idea to me and for the yet  undecided surely a game changer.

We won’t be taxing people’s gardens; it’s not going to happen. The Tories are simply throwing around false claims to try and distract from their own real policies: to hit pensioners and working people with a dementia tax, cuts to the Winter Fuel Allowance and further tax rises on middle and low earners.

Labour’s manifesto commits us to making council tax fairer: our plan is to see what needs to be done to ensure that working people don’t pay more. We'll look at how we can make council tax fairer but we’ll not be introducing a separate Land Value Tax on residential property.

From what I understand, they have only announced a review into the viability of land tax in their manifesto.  It is pointless to speculate the ins and outs of land tax at this stage given that they are very unlikely to win and even if they do,  they could tinker with tax rules to make it fairer or even worse.  Just yet another stick to beat Labour with in my eyes.

Labour will be taxing your garden gnome by the end of parliament if they seriously intend to carry on the spending they have planned.

Political pollsters have taken a beating recently after failing to predict a Conservative majority in 2015, a Leave vote last summer and a Donald Trump victory in November.

There's no way of knowing what will happen... But it is worth pointing out that the conservative vote on each of those elections was vastly underrated....

I used to vote Labour but I won't be whilst the far left have jumped onboard, can't vote for Lib Dems as I feel they're ashamed to be British, Tories are Tories, UKIP have gone completely looney and the Greens, well they're completely in la la land. Where's the centre parties who aren't ashamed of the white working class, who want equality but will also encourage entrepreneurs and realise that there aren't any magic money trees.

In short, I haven't a clue who to vote for.

A vote for Labour for me. A vote for a positive plan by a man with principles and a better vision. Whether he can deliver it is another question but **** voting for the bleak as **** nanny state bullshit put forward by the Tories.

As I've said before, I'd rather we go down dreaming of a better life under Corbyn than go down under that disgusting hawk faced **** May. She can **** herself with a rusty chainsaw.

A kinder, gentler politics.

Just don't make too much damage in the protests over the weekend.

But seriously though, i don't think its necessary for you to agree with every single policy that a political party has in their manifesto... theres approximately 60 million people in the UK and what 5-6 main  political parties... there's going to be some people that just dont agree with everything.

And this isnt particularly aimed at you but for me, if you choose not to vote then i dont think you have a right to complain and fully engage in the political movement/ discussions that go on...

Oh I'll be voting, more so because my grandparents fought for my right to do so and I can honour their sacrifices by voting as I always have.

What puts me off though is the political spin, especially through the media whether its the Mail on the right or the Guardian, BBC on the left. I just wish, dare I say, there was a party similar to how labour was back in the 90's!

Teresa May and the Tories in this election are a metaphorical big black dildo and you guys can't wait to bend over and **** yourself with it.

You'll wake up in 4 years time and realise you're in a dystopian nightmare future where your every move is monitored in a shit little country completely isolated from Europe with no money, no prospects and few of the freedoms you used to have.

Suckers for punishment eh.

Cant argue with you there. I think how far left they are going is their own downfall.... when you risk the chance of being beaten by Theresa May, you really do need to take a long hard look at yourselves...

Survived quite well before the E.U.. what makes you think we'll implode after it?

Wasn't the UK's economy tanking big time before joining the EU? What with the empire collapsing and whatnot.

Depends how far back you're going I guess. Under May it will feel like 1950 all over again.

Picked this up from daily politics show David Lammy, Labour , went into this tax proposal in some detail talking about the disparity of wealth from the North and the South and stated this tax would go somewhere towards bridging that gap, It certainly sounded like it was a serious proposal to me.

I've voted for different parties over the years but never have I been less certain as to how I will vote on the eve of an election.

It will either be for the least worst option or a result of an entirely random selection process when I am in the voting booth.

What depressing times we live in !

That's obviously not going to be the case is it? and the fact labour are relying on scaremongering tactics really only shows how much they have to offer the people...

Dont think I have seen Labour suggest we'll go back to the 1950s under May.

Is scaremongering just a word people use when they disagree with something. I barely saw the word until the brexit campaigns.

Remember Theresa May saying concerns about terror after police cuts in Manchester was scaremongering. Then what happened.

Calm down.

I don't get people who go crazy, outrage at either of these parties.

They are both shit, they do both scaremonger, they both tell massive lies (All parties do for that matter).

However as Sir Shep said where are the centre parties, the middle ground?

It's a big one, important one, but at the same time either way nothing will change, I don't get the massive arguements, massive outrage, something I call fake outrage (Forget 'Fake News')

I used to get outraged a few years ago, but have since learnt that nothing changes and there is no point in getting wound up, angry or outraged, people want change, I want change but the disillousion I have learnt since...what's the point. :dunno:
