Stevosevic Posted 4 May 2017 Posted 4 May 2017 Noticed hes playing a lot for our under 23s... Is he coaching at the club or something?
Brainy Posted 4 May 2017 Posted 4 May 2017 He has played for the u21's since we were apparently short on CM's, bizarrely.
adam95581 Posted 4 May 2017 Posted 4 May 2017 Fair play to him, his career is pretty much done and is reportedly a model pro so if he's passing on advice and helping the youngsters come through then it's all good news
jamesmilner Posted 4 May 2017 Posted 4 May 2017 He's taking his badges whilst playing as well . He's well liked and hopes to take up a coaching role on completion . I think he can take his badges without playing because i think it being a development squad and him playing is a joke . hes just taking experience away from a player each time he plays !!
Jimmy Posted 4 May 2017 Posted 4 May 2017 he came to train with us whilst looking for a club and do a bit of coaching
Bryn Posted 4 May 2017 Posted 4 May 2017 Got a lot of time for him. Solid pro, he's another Pearson signing who simply represented amazing value for money. From the little I know of him he sounds like he'd be a total asset to the coaching staff.

Not really, flip it round and consider 9 other players getting expericence playing and learning off him. So much in player development is mixing with wiser heads. Especially a guy who has played at all the levels in the English game. How often do you see teams send a team full of youth out in cup games and get totally turned over? All the time. A mix is vital. Got a lot of time for Deano, certainly a positive guy to have around the place and hope he's around at diffetent levels in the club for years to come.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 4 May 2017 Posted 4 May 2017 Good signing from Nige. Him, GTF and super KP were just the thing to get us over the line.

Disagree , watched him play many u23 games , awful !! #LEADBOOTSON
Callabinho Posted 4 May 2017 Posted 4 May 2017 I reckon he would make a decent coach old Deano...he's always come across as a pro!
Bloomfielder Posted 4 May 2017 Posted 4 May 2017 He was doing a lot of organising tonight, very vocal could clearly be heard shouting instructions.
UPinCarolina Posted 5 May 2017 Posted 5 May 2017 A player/coach isn't the worst thing to have in your corner. I hope he can find a long-term home at the club.

Few games of him barking orders at people to get into position will only benefit the u23's And as said above he's played in all leagues of the game in England so his experience can surely only help them

Had experience of the club at that level and have better experiences at other clubs. We are also employing teachers to train rather than ex footballers, which I think is a step backwards. Needs an an overhaul from top to bottom. I have heard a few stories, then another one a few weeks ago. All these stories highlight our short comings versus other clubs, where personnel are concerned.

Wouldn't have looked out of place in a Levein or Holloway side.
