I think they are not willing to pay what Swansea want and are looking at alternatives. Anyway, they have Barkely, Klaassn that can already play his position.

Tielemans63 Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Could you imagine Gylfi playing just behind Vardy? Absolute filth.

Leicester’s standing within the game has unquestionably been raised due to their title success, but some of the key protagonists from that miraculous season are heading elsewhere. The writer is a cockwomble. His reasoning for Sigurdsson going to Everton seems to be we are losing best players. Like Everton aren't losing Barkley or Lukaku. Best players. HITC obviously stands for Hugely Irritating Totally Crap.
CloudFox Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 I don't think Siggy to Everton is as nailed on as people think. Klaassen is a very good player who I think would fit Koeman's style...and I can't see Everton signing both as AM's. Everton can afford to take risks on quality players without PL experience too. They're cheaper, and if it is a 'waste' it won't impact their squad as much. Meanwhile, we as a club are less likely to be put off by the price tag for Siggy because we want proven PL quality, and have a more pressing need for an AM. Also we've all wanted him for forever, so I will defiantly continue to dream
katieakita Posted 15 June 2017 Posted 15 June 2017 HITC, in that case needs to be taken with an almost lethal pinch of salt. You could just as easily re-write this from a perspective of why he should join us. The problem for us Leicester fans is that the club do like to keep their business deals private so not enough gossip for some on here.
The_77 Posted 15 June 2017 Posted 15 June 2017 continue with Okazaki? Harvey Barnes? Gaston fookin Ramirez?Slimani.
TJB-fox Posted 15 June 2017 Posted 15 June 2017 Does appear that whoever is willing to just get in there and pay the money will get Gylfi. I'd rather we didn't spend over 30 on him but lord knows what we'll end up paying in today's market. I've seen figures of 36-40 rumoured but I assume that would include hefty add -ons? Nevertheless, is a quality player who would improve 4/5 of premiership teams. Be nice to have a genuine threat from direct freekicks and not just hope Riyad can get it over the wall
waylander Posted 15 June 2017 Posted 15 June 2017 Gylfi unites foxtalk like no one I have seen since Dennis wise. Someone let someone itk at the club know and Gerrrriimmmmiiiinnn. ?

We are massively rich and don't need to worry about money, so long as we are signing the right players. Ifwe were spending that kind of money on Deeney then I'd be worried but signing Gylfi would be a massive signal of intent. If we sell Mahrez for £40m and buy Gylfi for £40m i honestly think that's good business. Mahrez has had 1 amazing season, Gylfi has been a top player consistently for years.

Ok that's your opinion but I don't think he's THAT good. He's a very good player but he isn't the best outside the top six. And again, yes we are rich but we're rich because the owners have been smart as **** with transfers and our finances, spending where it needs to be spent over the past couple of years. I really hope we go out and sign him but it remains to be seen wether the owners will pay 40 for him!

Plus we spent £30m on slimani, £16m on Musa. So its fair to say the owners haven't always been 'smart as ****' with transfers

And exactly, our big money signings haven't always come off. And I'm not saying don't spend big money because I'm not naive enough to think we can go and sign another Mahrez or Kante, we will need to spend money to improve especially in this day and age. Oh, and Lukaku, Barkley (less consistent but I'd rather have him than Gylfi, just), Van Djik, Antonio, Vardy, Mahrez, then there's a few others that potentially are but hard to compare, Keane, Gabbiadini could be fantastic with a season under his belt and Josh King has suddenly turned into a world beater- will be interesting if he can carry that form on. Anyway let's not get side tracked, he's a fantastic player who I'd love to see behind Vardy.

Some fans wants us to get to the next level, which means paying big money for the best players. If you don't think we should be spending '£40m' on Gylfi because he is too expensive then don't expect anything more than a 13th place finish next season.

Lukaku and Van Dijk maybe, we already have Vardy and Mahrez (and Sigurdsson is way more consistent than Mahrez), the rest are nowhere near his level.

Lukaku and Van Dijk maybe as good as Siggy? I reckon they're a head and shoulders better, come off it..
Wymsey Posted 15 June 2017 Posted 15 June 2017 Can see Tottenham having first choice if Sigurdsson wants to leave, especially if they had a buy-back clause agreement when Swansea signed him.

I want us to spend the money, this time last year it was me calling for money to be spent and to keep Vardy so we could be elevated to the next level, so no need to be patronising implying I don't want my team to get 'to the next level'. Thats funny isnt it because we achieved higher than that without him this year. Why are people ignoring me when I say I want us to sign him? I really do, just reluctant to see us spend over £40m on him when let's be frank he's never played in a system like ours:
