Panic over.

Aaron Posted 11 July 2017 Posted 11 July 2017 As a Manchester City fan (although a prodigal one) I have seen a lot of Kelechi for the past few years, and feel he's only shown about 50% of what he can do; he's going to be a mega star and will be the perfect foil for Vardy as a second striker in a 4-4-2, of even as a focal point/false 9 in a front 3 with Vardy further wide. The kid is top class, and his treatment/almost exile under Guardiola allegedly has more to do with his refusal to sign with Pep's brother's agency than his potential/talent/attitude. Most City fans are too far up the Catalan charlatans arse to see how the club's few remaining elements of authenticity are being torn apart by his moronic decisions, because his presence makes them vindicated in their desperation to be a big club rather than a wealthy one; Hart's shameful treatment wouldn't have been tolerated back when the fans still had dignity, and the same goes for Iheanacho's sale. While you're at it, I'd throw some money at Patrick Roberts as well, another uber-talent who's being ignored so Pep can fill his team and bench with £45m forwards to try to disguise the fact he's simply Roberto Martinez with historically better resources. Like everything else about the man, the perception that he's some great developer of youth is pure mythology.

mozartfox Posted 11 July 2017 Posted 11 July 2017 Press reports saying Spuds looking to hi-jack deal. He could be used as a 'makeweight' in the Kyle Walker to City deal.

Rossiman Posted 11 July 2017 Posted 11 July 2017 Spurs, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco in last-ditch effort to snap Kelechi. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3989988/spurs-could-hijack-leicester-move-kelechi-iheanacho-kyle-walker-manchester-city/

The 20 year old will have his medicals on Wednesday when he returns back to England after he was given extended break by coach Pep Guardiola due to his engagement in international matches with Nigeria during the off season. Leicester City will pay Manchester City an initial fee of £22.5m for his services and they have also agreed on a buy back clause of £37.5m for the first four years of his stay with the Foxes. However if Leicester are able to qualify for the Champions League during Iheanacho’s first your years at the club, and City want to exercise their buy back option, a fee of £50m has been agreed between both parties. Furthermore his move to Leicester City have also made him the most expensive Nigerian player ever, and his new wage at Leicester City which is twice his current wage at Manchester City also makes him the highest paid Nigerian player in Europe.

foxfanazer Posted 11 July 2017 Posted 11 July 2017 Man City would surely rather sell to us as they must see Spurs as title rivals

st albans fox Posted 11 July 2017 Posted 11 July 2017 I like the detail in the OGN article but it fails re his return on Wednesday so why would you believe the stuff no one knows about when it can't get the stuff everyone knows about (and is irrefutable fact) correct! Also, the 'deal agreed in principle ' message yesterday was one of the interested parties way of sending a message to the other interested parties to pull their fingers out and get the deal done by highlighting to the rest of the football world that there was a deal close to being done here.

To be fair, he was coach of Barca's youth team and brought them all the way up to senior level. There's no myth in that. But he's not going to take the same route again of course. He is now at the top level where he must get trophies and buying proven young talent rather than relying on unproven young talent who have not been brought through the system by him of course surely guarantees a much higher chance if success. You can't just appoint him and expect him to use half of City's youth players in a team fighting on 4 fronts. If he's still with you in a year or two I'm sure you will see more youth given a chance once he has exerted more influence on the way they are coached in the youth team.
Fox 4 Life Posted 11 July 2017 Posted 11 July 2017 City wouldn't sell to spurs but the Dortmund and Monaco links are scary. Champions league football would be hard to turn down.
