Not sure we need backups at the minuet unless we sell Morgan or Huth and he replaces them. Need two new starting CBs.

Two first choice centre backs would cost us £30million plus.

Can only see us signing 1 centre half tbh and then maybe leave Amartey spare if we are ever in need.

If Curtis Davies was worth buying, he wouldn't be moving to Derby. Good Championship player, don't get me wrong, but would be a pointless signing for us.

Derby sign Curtis Davies from Hull for half a million quid.

Excellent signing for the sheep that one.

Agree.

Though, considering they purchased Bradley Johnson for a £5m fee (iirc), surprised Hull didn't want to hold out for a higher offer.

Rowett knows he'll be under-pressure already if they get off to a poor start with the owner being known to chop and change without giving people much time to turn a situation around.

Quite an astute purchase tbh. We dont normally go out and buy these types of players, morris likes the the bigger name (in championship terms) flair players. Good signing this one and if we can get hanley aswell itll be a massive defensive improvement for us. A right back and someone to replace russell would be an excellent summers recruiting. We can maybe say goodbye to keogh at long last lol.

What's the deal with Tom Ince @FriendlyRam? I'm sure I saw him linked with Toon a few weeks ago.

Sky Sports reporting Gary Monk to be announced as Middlesbro manager.....Poor Nige has missed out....Slutsky has been appointed Hull manager.....not many options left for him in Championship at moment other than Sunderland

Might take 2/3 years but Nige could be perfect for Sunderland.

All gone quiet on ince re newcastle. And newcastle seemed to be linked with him every summer, but it would be a loss for us to lose him, hes been our stand out forward player for the past 2 and a half years, scores goals and for a winger its goldust for us,, but 8m might mean we cash in sadly.

Monk is a good appointment, boro were my fancies for autos and thats strengthned it tbh.
