ian_marshall Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Awful set of fixtures. I think we may be in for a long season, however the one saving grace is that the majority of the last 10 fixtures or so are winnable so if things aren't looking too good at least we'll have an opportunity to get points on the board. Hopefully we get our recruitment and prepaprations right this summer which should stand us in good stead.
sylofox Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Why could our first and last fixture been reversed. spuds will grow into playing at Wembley.
ozvaldo Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 It will be nice to beat Spurs on the last game of the season to lift the trophy.
Guest TaggertvsWise Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 If this list says anything it says we need to get our shit together early, get a settled squad and galvanise it.

st albans fox Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 The big teams sometimes start slowly so good to get them early but they won't have CL distractions in august

Peterorange Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 BBC still believe... "But it could prove a tricky opening few weeks for the defending champions too, with Chelsea hosting Everton (26 August), visiting 2015-16 winners Leicester after the international break and then welcoming Arsenal (16 September)."

Thracian Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Pre-season preparation will need to be spot on - there're no way we're going to want a slow start. Good early chances to show ourselves as a team to be reckoned with though. Onwards and upwards.
Bazly Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 If we get 15 points from the first six games of the new season, I think we will be the Champions come May 2018.
foxy boxing Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 a tough start, let's get the Gunners fans on Wenger's back straight away!

MrSpaM Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 I know there are no easy games in the premiership but it's starting to look like the league are just trying to get our manager sacked by Christmas every season That first part of the season is going to be incredibly difficult for Shakey
David Hankey Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 It's tough at the top and no easy games in the PL. Realistically, 3 points by the end of August?!!
Bazly Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 I just hope the opening fixture list will focus the owners and managers mind on the defence and the urgent recruitment of top central defenders, a good deputy for Simpson and the retention of Schmeichel as their absolute number one priority. Because we all know it'll be 65% - 70% opposition possession in those opening 6 games.
Halifax Fox Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Mahrez away first game could be tasty! And we owe them plenty for the last few seasons.

lcfcben76 Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Some positives, Burnley away in cricket season a standout
David Hankey Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Last game of the season, away at Wembley. We need 3 points for title and the Spuds 3 points to prevent them coming 3rd in a 2-horse race again!!
