Hang on, credit where it’s due, Javid has dealt with the immediate issue and promptly. I don’t think it had got up as far as him previous to the widespread press involvement. And yes, this result might have been because Javid is media savy, but if it results in just outcomes I don’t care. Javid, to his credit was also one of the first Senior Tory MP’s to push the government and Theresa May to do much more about Grenfell. He seems to have a human side to him and that could well be genuine given his upbringing an parents background.

UpTheLeagueFox Posted 16 June 2018 Posted 16 June 2018 All depends on the angle you take the photo from, the time of day etc and probably your political leanings to suggest whether Labour Live was a success or not. I'm guessing it was majority of Corbyn-worshippers (effectively in their own echo chamber) and probably won't make much difference to the votes Labour receive in the next General Election. That said, if those folk are happy to spend the day doing stuff like this then good luck to them, each to their own.

It's not something I'd go to and I'm not a huge Corbyn fan, but we hear people bemoan the public's lack of interest in politics and we've just had a few thousand people spend an afternoon talking about, so we shouldn't complain or laugh at it. The first picture posted is clearly early in the day, that a how Victoria park looked when I got there for the premier league trophy parade as a similar example. You can't deny how many are there when Corbyn is up on stage. Maybe some only went to see Clean Bandit but heard something that's got them interested in learning more about politics. Whatever your political leaning, that's got to be a good thing. 2

It's both disgusting and horrible in how the attack happened, but also concerning that that type of tragic event could happen to another MP either going to or leaving their local offices via the public eye. Even safety isn't guaranteed for those at the top. Edited 16 June 2018 by Wymeswold fox

Absolutely. Political disagreement is absolutely sacrosanct; any sort of resulting violence is unjustifiable.

Jon the Hat Posted 17 June 2018 Posted 17 June 2018 TM announces roughly £350m a week increase in NHS funding... anyone?

We'll find out where the money's coming from in the Autumn statement. EU expenditure already earmarked up until the end of 2022/23 after all. Though clearly that's what they'll say it is. Sums involved still aren't enough though.

I’m pleased to see a real funding increase. Hopefully this is better managed than the Labour splurge after 1997

Tbf there is good and bad in this. He's made the right decision which is a good thing. But they prevaricated for a week and waited for the poor lad to be hospitalised to make the decision which isn't a good thing. This is neither 'Tories good' nor 'Tories bad'.
