I really like that quite a few guys at the top who have been there and done it seem to be really protective over Littler and just genuinely seem to enjoy seeing such a young lad play so well.

I think Gary Anderson was first to see it coming and beg the media to just back off and leave him alone and since then MvG, Cross, Chizzy and Wade have all been vocal to the journos regarding just letting the lad play his darts.

Yep,Watched a lot of the Euro Tour(my fave competition in darts) and have to admit i thought Littler was just a flash in the pan after the WC.....But he seems to have it all!Him and Humphries/Price/Cross look to be the one's to beat now.

I don’t get what people have got against him, maybe he needs to get his hair done like Peter Wright

The fact that he is world no 1 and reigning world champion and people are more interested in Luke Littler pretty much sums him up.

You can see the comms people painfully trying to convince us that he is the one to watch, whilst clearly having no interest themselves.

For a sport that so enthusiastically tries to raise it's profile and come across as something more than a bunch of fat blokes, humphries is the worst thing that could have happened - no one cares about their champion.

But he has a fast way of throwing, averages 110+ pretty consistently and hits massive out shots like they’re easy. I don’t get what else he can do? You don’t like him, fine, plenty of players I don’t like for one reason or another, but to claim he’s the worst thing that could have happened… get a grip would be my advice.

I can sort of understand why. Seems quiet and understated in his demeanor and celebrations, steady player. Never that flashy seemingly.

I like him personally but the drunkards that attend these events prefer someone a bit more animated.

Aye which is fine, but to say he’s basically ruining darts is a bit of a stretch!

Humphries comes across as a decent bloke and I find his interviews more interesting than those of say Michael Smith, or Aspinall and I have nothing against them either.   He is a phenomenal dart player, surely that’s really all that counts.

what you say is true and there's no denying he's talented - but I stand by what i say - it seems to be the consensus that he's just not very likeable, there's a reason why all the fuss has been about littler and not humphries.  So, for the sport to have such an unpopular player as it's 'star' is not great for the sport - had littler beat him in the world final it would have been a huge boost for the sport.

I wouldn't say Humphries is unpopular. Just a little vanilla compared to others. And the sudden emergence of Littler has taken all eyes off him right at the point he has become World Champion as well.

Well no, he's not slow and dull on a regular basis.

He’s unfashionable and clearly not well thought of by the masses.

How dare you come onto this forum and punch down on a Prince of Leicester 😉

I'd argue that Selby is very well thought of by most people. They know how good he is, but he can be a challenging watch a lot of the time unless he quickens up.

This is really just your opinion, he seems popular enough with the other players.  He speaks well and with modesty and is a great darts player, what else do you want from him?

It is my opinion, but it's far from an isolated one.

When the presenters are discussing it on TV, you know there is an issue.  Even Humphries has been questioned in interview over the criticism towards him.

Does he speak well?  I find him to be a bit dismissive and to be carrying a bit of a chip on his shoulder.

If he was a popular player we wouldn't be having this conversation.
