What a load of rubbish - how can we be in a false position ? How have you come to this conclusion

Because 4 out of our 6 fixtures in the league have been against top 6 clubs.  After 10 games we should have a better idea of where we are at IMO. Watford won't finish 6th. Everton won't finish 14th. And after 10 games we should be around mid table hopefully. It's too early to just look at the league table and say Shakey is shite sack him. When we haven't lost to anyone we wouldn't have expected to beat yet.

We've also not had a fully fit squad yet. I just think it's too early to judge that's all and we are not the 17th worst team in the league IMO. Hence I said false position.

There's a certain air of delusions of grandeur running through these forums these days. Get behind Shakespeare ffs, it's not as if we've lost to Brighton, Huddersfield, Bournemouth and Swansea, we've played some bloody good teams who financially are out of our league.

Which bit is nonsense? I am not saying you are wrong and nor am I saying that Leicester will win the league and Shakespeare is the greatest manager ever but but which bit is "complete nonsense"?  Is it that "4 out of our 6 fixtures in the league have been against top 6 clubs?".  Or is it complete nonsense that it that "Watford won't finish 6th"?. Maybe it is complete nonsense that "Everton won't finish 14th"?. Like I said, we may be in trouble, we may have a long season ahead but can't see much in that post that was "complete nonsense"?  I know you think you are some kind of realist, speaking the truth and all that and I cannot stop you being a wee bit of a negative nelly but at least back up your claims with more than simply "lol, complete nonsense" as it doesn't really help your cause.  Convince me, using valid arguments and evidence? X

Just seems pointless to speculate 'what ifs' CF...no offence !

From a personal point of view, no...wouldn't feel an iota of a difference. I thought in the Summer that giving CS the full time job was an error. Probably dates back to my memories of the last 'virgin ' manager we appointed, (McLintock) !!

I just felt that Shakey's inexperience might show through at some critical point and I'm sad to say that I feel it is already !

Yes it's been a tough schedule so far. Yes we've had injuries to a couple of our key players and yes, CS isn't yet playing with a full deck due to the AS/FIFA farce, but the general way we're setting up isn't, to me, coming across as 'fearless'. If we plod out the same XI and the same tactics at Bournemouth  I'll be less than happy and, I'd imagine', not alone in that !

I think you'll find that Buce started the 'what ifs' first  :) ...    but sadly, at least on this forum, I know I'm in the minority ...   overall I think its our signings that have really let us down, and I know who we all blame for that, but maybe the players we need to make progress just don't want to come here.   Anyway, lets see what happens ..  big day today.           And as for McLintock !! ..   fook me he was sh1te !!

I didn't realise you were old enough to remember McLintock, CF.

Christ, we've seen some shit, haven't we?

Ok mate, your overall argument is that we may be better than our current position shows, correct?

The nonsense parts of your post include:

"after around ten games we should be mid table, hopefully"

An appeal to fancy. "Hopefully" I will win the lottery one day. The odds say quite the opposite. We can all hope but what are you basing it on? The fact that we have won one game in the league and have been outplayed in all the others?

"we haven't lost to anyone we wouldn't have been expected to beat yet"

Key word Lost. We should have beat Huddersfield and Liverpool are a poor side for the taking.

"Too early to judge"

Complete nonsense. Do you watch our games. There's no game plan. No tactics. No system. We don't play to our strengths. He makes ridiculous subs, stuff like taking off our best crosser and replacing him with our best headerer. Starts games with Islamic Slimani and Leo together. Keeps playing the same system with the same poor performers. He will play 442 today away with Kingy in the middle almost a guarantee

what I'm saying is that his decision making is not that of a manager but that of a coach. We can't give him time to learn and he will relegate us.

Well, it isn't. It's called realism.

Realism? When the term "hopefully" is applied there is nothing realistic about it but nice try

Alright then Mr. Motivator. Take that one word out of his statement then we've got realism.

Just to clarify, the quotes you have given here as "mine" were from someone else, I did not make the original post but merely asked you to explain your "lol, complete nonsense" statement in more detail to convince me of your viewpoint.  You have semi done this, I am not convinced but you tried.  Let's just hope for a win eh?  I assume that is what you want? :)

It's quite simple, when most of your games are against the best teams then it's quite possible to warp the table. Just as it would if you played all the worst teams in a row, you'd expect more points.

Overly the next 6 weeks it will even itself out and we'll know exactly where we will stand as we'll have played a mix of teams.

Everyone said it was a difficult start to the season, for good reason. Almost everyone said it's quite possible we'd find ourselves in this position after these games.
