Safe standing - time to act

I can only agree, England are a bit behind times. Gone are the days of atmospheres in the grounds. Too many people with bad mindsets going to the game and just sitting there in silence. If you want to admire a play, go to the theatre. Football is about getting behind the team you follow. Being reluctant to house 10% of fans in a standing facility is ridiculous and narrow minded.

At least things are slowly moving and fair play to the likes of Celtic, Kilmarnock, Wolves, Shrewsbury and Spurs (and any others I may not be aware of).

I wouldn't be too quick to give them any credit yet. Despite all the publicity and bluster about that end behind the goal and what they claim they want it to be, they were ejecting people for standing within two games.

Top clubs here think they can just imitate the look of the best stands abroad and it'll magic up atmosphere. It's the people who fill those stands that count! Too much superficial lip service is paid here to atmosphere, but half the problem is most fans buy into the clubs' corporate visions instead of challenging them.

Yes agree, even though the facility is there, it doesn't mean they will go through with it. I was just commending clubs taking the first step which is legal now.

I guess it's easy for Spurs and Wolves to do it because one built a new ground and the other is redeveloping. I just hope that our club use their brains and listen to the fans when the ground is redeveloped.

Ah thought he meant safe standing...barriers in front of seats have always been allowed, so not sure what he meant by 'legal now'.

Barriers in front of seats used to void a stadium's all seater status, they don't anymore as per the Green Guide revisions in October last year.
