urban.spaceman Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Leicester loves you more than you will know. Thank you for giving us 5 years. Thank you for 218 games, 15 goals and 23 assists. Thank you for your contribution to Leicester City - Leicester City - winning the Championship, winning the fvcking Premier League, and reaching the Quarter Finals of the Champions League. The most incredible period in Leicester City's history - we would not have been Champions of England without you. You are and will always be a Leicester City legend. I for one, thoroughly wish you well for the rest of your career! Thank you.

The memories of him playing those balls over the top for Vardy in the title winning season will forever stay fresh in my mind. vs Arsenal will forever be my favourite combo goal.
fox766 Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 And that goal against l/pool that help start last seasons revival.
fox766 Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Yes think so. Just hope Silva can do a better job

Vacamion Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 He played 35 of the 38 premier winning games. He was "Leicester City and England". (think back at how mad and unlikely that prospect was in 2012 when he joined ) and he was soooooo unlucky not to be picked for the last tournament. He was a vital cog in the machine which stormed the Premier. He wasn't flashy or mouthy. He just got on with it. Wish him all the best for his future endeavours. Except against us.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Played well with Kante and obviously Chelsea hope he does again. No great shakes the pre kante season and lucky to get so many games last season as not good. i thank him, and we have had the best out of him.
iLikeFoxes Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Loved Drinky and will miss. Best of luck at Chelsea.I think LCFC have done a terrific job to make lemonade out of lemons, and at incredibly short notice. Assuming Silva is indeed done.Sent from my 2PS64 using Tapatalk

M0901 Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Sorry for the language but I ****ing love Drinkwater. What a coup he was. He's earned his chance. All the best to one of our greatest centre midfielders, no-nonsense with a lot of ability thrown in. Hope he gets a fair go of it at Chelsea.
StriderHiryu Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Nothing but love for Danny. An integral part of the best period in our club's history. Best of luck for the future and hope you make it into the England squad for the World Cup. You and Ngolo are welcome back to play any time :).
foxfanazer Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 When we got him nobody could've envisaged just how instrumental he'd be for us. All the best Danny and thanks for everything you've done
Aus Fox Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 That equaliser vs Watford, thought the game was dead Drinky bang!
Callabinho Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Legend. but take you blue tinted specs off for a second and admire the man. it can't be easy realising that you have no future at your parent club, and a club like united must make it even harder, that is enough in itself to end a players career. It's been a tough gig for him, started out his youth career as a bit of a journeyman until he found his feet with us, Nige having his eyes on the United academy plucked him at the right time.... There have been ups and downs along the way, but throughout Danny showed maturity and class to keep his foot in the door, since his release Danny has worked his arse off and along the way has been an integral part in us winning the championship title and later the premier league. He's developed into an a more industrial footballer, he developed himself physically and at times displays vision and accuracy that the likes of Pirlo has shown through the years. In short it's a shame to see him leave, but he has earned the chance to play for a massive club, instead of dropping his head and giving up he carried on and became better than I think he even thought he would, we gave him the tools to progress and he's taken them and done exactly that. Danny will get a standing ovation from me next week, as I hope he will everyone else, not just because he used to play for us but in recognition of someone who never gave up on his dream, got on with it and improved constantly along the way... if you can sing Tony K a song for achieving far less, you can give Danny one too.... So for one last time, here's to you Danny Drinkwater.... you deserve it kid, good luck.
Sammy Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 What a day that original post was, memories like that will be what I think of Drinkwater. One of the players that made it all happen
Out Foxed Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 i've posted this before. but when he was out on his bday after the watford game of the Prem winning season, all the lads were singing this to him - matty, kingy, hamer and his mates.
David Hankey Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Get over Drinkwater, he's just another one in a long list of players who have come and gone since 1884. Leicester City will still survive and progress without him as we have with many more greater players who are no longer with us.
wasthedestroyer Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Faked injury for a month and handed in a transfer request & magically passes medical. Not the best way to leave a club IMO, especially with all the memories. Still, I wish him the best as he was a good player for us & always worked hard.
Gerard Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 I felt a bit resentful towards him the last couple of days after finding out he handed in a transfer request but what a great player he's been for us. Who would have believed he'd come here and be a key player in winning the Championship and Premier League and he's effectively played for free and earnt the clubs millions.
HighPeakFox Posted 2 September 2017 Posted 2 September 2017 If it turns out he hadn't faked injury, it makes a lot of people here look utterly petty finger pointing berks.

Strokes Posted 2 September 2017 Posted 2 September 2017 Never created or scored enough for me, I think we robbed Chelsea with that fee. Very good business.
