Wheres the money going?

Loan fee for Dragovic don't forget, which won't be small considering they paid about £16m for him a year ago. With of course an option to buy, which should we exercise is probably going to be what they paid for him.

Plus... you don't have to spend every penny you have in one go. Quite frankly it's rather prudent to keep a decent wedge in your pocket for future windows. Should someone get a serious injury, you want to be able to go out in January and get a replacement, rather than being stuck with what you have as you've spent the lot.

Stadium expansion I guess will be fairly soon.

Training ground relocation maybe.

We have added some quality here now, Silva is a much better mid player than Drinkwater.

Maguire well we have all seen his benefits, Ian Nacho quality and will defo shine.

Iborra proven quality player, we are going in the right direction.

Dragovic been chasing him for a while and will be purchased next summer if he comes up with the goods.

Well done owners.

Well done owners on what? This is what I expect, especially after the shite we brought in last summer.

As for the ground expansion I'd be waiting on that given Brighton, first home game of the season, went to gen sale.

Our nett spend, this transfer window, was approx. £31m

this is fees alone.

FFP basically wants clubs to spend what they earn

Yeah, they are taking look at PSG at the moment and the rules seem to say that you can only spend 30 million more than a particular figure which I can't remember if is what you earn as in profit or your net income!

You are aware of where we were when they bought us and some of the achievement's in the last few years, so well done KP for investing over £100 million of your own money into a club and taking us to win the Premier league and giving us champions league football. Some of us City fans will never forget success we never dared dream of while we witnessed arguably the greatest ever shock in team sport history though sadly it looks like some have already forgotten

I thought this thread was about this summer not the history of the owners time at the club. You've taken the first bit of my post out of context.

They’re building a new training ground and either extending or building a new stadium.... it’s not all about player investment.

For them to build a new training facility and perhaps get our academy up to scratch is incredibly important. There’s not a lot of premier league clubs in the midlands anymore and we need to be taking advantage of that by getting and producing the best youngsters.

I think they’re running the club incredibly well and we couldn’t ask for any more.

Arsenal fans have to pay £1500 a season ticket and hardly spend any money on players.... in my opinion we’re incredibly lucky

Even without Silva it's not £6mil.

Silva £22mil

Iborra £12mil

Maguire  £17mil

Ihanenacho  £25mil

Jakupovic £2mil

Out = £78mil

Drinkwater  £35mil

Lawrence £7mil

Dialer  £2mil

In = £44mil

Net spend = £34mil

Even without Silva it's still £12mil.

Think I would include the Schlupp money as this was not spent

The training ground move I think is excellent business.

I have to be honest, it doesn't surprise me that players don't like the commute in and let's face it - it's on a housing estate off Aylestone Road - the riviera it ain't.

We traditionally struggle to attract top players - a reason for this is we arguably don't maximise what the county of Leicestershire has to offer.

Based off junction 22 in a rural location with excellent transport links to both Air Rail and Road seems smart. Also the rural setting with the properties around Ulverscroft and surrounding area are suited to people who have 2-5 million to spend on a house in 2-10 acres and decent private schools etc near by.

I do wonder if in years to come - players and families will be situated a bit more of a rural community which has a punt at forging attachments, creating team spirit, atmosphere and a collegiate environment.

Shall we reserve judgement on Silva before we've actually seen him in a blue shirt?  He has been playing in the Portugese league for his whole career let's not forget, it's a big step up for him.  Do not underestimate how good Drinkwater was for us and don't get on Silva's back if he dosn't make the best of starts.

The stadium is not owned by LCFC it's owned directly by KP so I assume it's two separate entities whether they can use money generated through LCFC to fund a stadium expansion I don't know.

Plus another  £22mil for Silva and another couple mil for Jakupovic.

Our net spend is well over £30mil and we've spent the most of any side outside the top 7.

Not sure where this £6mil net spend crap has come from?

Poor maths?

Seems people aren't including the Silva fee given it's still not officially confirmed.

When you see forest buying a player for £300,000 shows just how lucky we are splashing £22 million on one player just relax and enjoy the moment.

Yep, especially when they got all that money for Assombalonga - they needed that fee just to pay off some debts i think.

I think our investment really has been very good, we're miles ahead of Burnley, Crystal Palace and quite a few more decent clubs. It's really gone the best it could have bearing in mind our champions season, we could have lost more players than just Kante and Drinkwater since then - that's also good for us as we haven't needed to reinvest fully in replacing these guys (hopefully we don't but Mahrez will probably go someday) we've payed for quality that we've identified in Nacho/Iborra/Silva - and it's no harm to the club to save some funds incase of a rainy day - if we ended up relegated somehow in the next few seasons saving money now could be cruicial for us to get out of a more competitive Championship again. In the bigger picture i think the owners have invested very well in recent times, they learned from the Sven saga that chucking money around without thought gets you nothing but a smaller bank balance. Who knows what we will do in January yet either, could and probably will be an even more expensive window than this past one on individual fees for players - we've got some money for then i'm sure. We're very very lucky :scarf:

Thank goodness I have thought you had gone crazy. Thing is we have no idea associated costs for the club, bonus payments, paying off managers how transfers were funded previously maybe to get a Silva a Maguire or Ndidi more money is put up front and lets not forget the club put a lot of the title winning squad on better contracts. We must not forget the owners had a long term plan for the club to establish us as a club challenging for a top 6-8 finish and just comparing our squad from when we came up to now shows how far we have come

Nothing was taken out of context. Your comments made you sound very ungreatful. Our owners signed the cheques they did not pick the players. But you blamed them.

Time for a revival?

Hmmm some of our fans should have lived through that era.

To many of our fans now have no clue or have forgotten how bad times have been. Our owners spend more on clappers flags tshirts and the like than the shipmans did on players.

I am never ungrateful to the owners, I just thought this thread was more about the transfer window just gone. I know the owners sign cheques but lets not pretend they don't make millions from the PL. On top of that, actually winning it and also playing in the CL.

Your last paragraph is irrelevant because of how much the club makes nowadays.

Irrelevant to what? What planet are you on?

It's relevant to the post I was replying to and the topic we are discussing.
