Already a few cases of Pancreas problems due to using it. As I said in my original post it's not aimed at all users. But those capable of diet and exercise should simply use diet and exercise to lose weight, it'll be so much healthier and more rewarding.

I think it is a personal opinion as to whether you have a weight problem, and if you are paying for it privately, and there is now no shortage of the drugs, who cares?

I'm not sure if it's still the case, but there was a shortage of it, another forum I use a diabetic was having issues obtaining supplies. If those supplies are being bought privately by some z lister who perceives they need to lose 2lb, it's not going to help those who would really benefit or the NHS.

If that's changed and there are adequate supplies, it's not an issue.

Our local chemist has an advert in the window, and it states BMI of 29/30 to qualify. So, I think the proper benefits are for obese people, not quick fix types.

And, it's very judgemental to group them all as 'lazy, fat people' (not you Jon).

There are a lot who would be that, but a lot who have medical issues and diet and exercise either aren't the issue. I might be bias as those are the circumstances of someone I know.

More than one way of skinning a cat it would seem.

I still say the best way for anyone to lose weight is walking.

If injections are part of that journey, then so be it.

You sound a bit bitter - if the lazy fat people all lose weight and save the NHS billions as the health sec has promised - then all the less fat and lazy people are golden - less stretched NHS and a better funded Britain, we could waste the money on something else instead!

Why the hell are MY TAXES going towards injections for lazy and fat people who cannot be arsed to lose weight, and in ten years time when these people have obviously misused the drugs and are riddled with pancreatic disease, MY TAXES will be going to their care again.

We should be wasting the money on fat camps instead!

Your taxes also pay for people that hurt themselves doing extreme sports, DIY or sexual deviances.

They pay for cancer treatment for ex smokers.

People that get run over because they didn't pay attention to those cute hedgehog adverts in the 80s.

They pay for people to get help with drug addiction.

The list goes on.

Yeh I know, I was hoping the capitalisation of MY TAXES indicated the irony, it's like comment letters in magazines about people complaining that their taxes are paying for a £7 bottle of cream on prescription. Sounded funnier in my head :(

It is a valid discussion as to what should be covered.

The NHS being free means that people in this country don't value their health in the same that people in other countries that pay for it do.

There is more than just what you see at surface level with overweight people, genetics/genome/environmental factors play a huge part in obesity, it has been proven some peoples brains are more addicted to eating more and not knowing when to stop etc. it isn't all down to being lazy, some cases yes, a lot of cases no.

I've been on mounjaro for about 9 months and lost about 5 stone (its slowed down a lot recently, rapid losses to begin with), and I'm very happy about it. I've always been fat, in my youth I was extremely active, swimming twice a week, cricket twice a week but always fat. In my 30s, still relatively active, had a manual labour job, ate quite well, still fat. Did couch to 5k (successfully), still fat. Did the gym for about 2 years, still fat. Ended up getting more and more depressed.

Couldn't really give a shit what anyone else thinks, it's my money and I've never felt better.

You lazy fat person who can’t be bothered to lose weight the natural & healthy way.

Jokes aside I bet that’s life changing, keep it up, sounds like you’ve had a battle

Yep this convo is now getting real, Tommy G is getting triggered, I'm sure Daggers will come in next getting offended in a shower of swearing so we better get serious before the internet stewards delete it all.

I agree, of course loads cannot be arsed but of course loads benefit from the appetite regulation hormone it releases. It is a wonderfully simplistic drug

I wouldn’t worry I’m not sure you’re a great contributor to HMRCs coffers.

This probably fits on here:

16 and 17 year olds should not be able to vote in a General Election.

I think your opinion is probably the popular one!

I don't have a problem with it. They can work and pay taxes. They also have more stake in the future of the country than the very oldest who vote.

People of any age can pay taxes, so that is a null point. At 18 you legally become an adult so that's where the voting age should be.

Although i do agree with the last part of your post, in the same way as older people's votes should have counted for less in the Brexit referendum.

Highlighting a problem without suggesting/detailing a better option than that problem is mostly pointless self-gratification for the benefit of the highlighter, no one else. That goes for practically every situation where this is a factor.

It's fine to get things off your chest and long may people have the opportunity to do it, but don't pretend it's being done for any other reason than to make yourself feel better.

And what's your suggestion to solve this problem?:D

Munjaro and these other drugs are all well and good but what we really need is to redefine the whole food industry and how that works.

Our eating habits almost from birth are dictated to by the massive food companies where us realising.

We literally have governments, supermarkets and advertising companies what and how we eat.
