I heard that he's leaving tonight on a plane?

No..he only looks like Daniel.

Must be the clouds in your eyes?

Ghana are 4 points behind Egypt with two games left. They will miss out on the World Cup next summer. It's been a pretty poor qualifying campaign for Ghana. I think Amartey is captain by default, not because he is captain material.

They could have chosen at any one of at least 10 others.......but they didn't.  It's still an honour to skipper your country.

Good for him, but if Ghana were a premier league team they would be relegated by some distance.

Surely people can see the difference in quality.

So would England.

Well, that's quite the arrogant comment.

They are playing the mighty Uganda, so it will be easy for Amartey to slot in at centre half when he comes up against the likes of Man Utd! He is nowhere near Huth, Morgan, Maguire, Dragovic or even Fuchs as a Premier League centre half

Clearly you've seen enough of Amartey and Dragovic playing centre half to make that call.

Fuchs is even worse at centre back than my dead grandmother.

How do we know, he's always shoved in at bloody right back. I know someone is going to chip in now with "well the manager sees him in training every day so clearly can see hes not up to scratch in that position" but i'm really struggling to put my faith in his judgement at the moment, 44****ing2 nuff said!

Shakey seems to have a phobia of playing him at Centre Back. Probably best he moves on for the sake of his career to be honest.

Genuinely..good for him.

Captaining your country must be brilliant at any level.

This is a manager that's also pretty much unwilling to drop any one from the title winning team. I fully believe if Huth wasn't injured Preseason then Maguire wouldn't have had many minutes so far at all.

I don't believe the manager has an objective view in this. Amartey could be fantastic at centre half in training but he won't get in the team.

I'm watching this in Mexico on ESPN. Uganda just missed an open goal from 6 yards. Still 0-0

All kicking off. Ghana wrongly have a goal disallowed for offside with the last kick off the game.

Many thanks for your in depth match report, much appreciated :thumbup:lol

I can't imagine he'd make a good captain, not assertive enough

Have you ever  seen Wes Morgan assert himself?

It's not hard to imagine Wes rallying the ads round in the dressing room, I reckon Amartey asks for the lord's permission every time he crosses the road

It finished Uganda 0 Ghana 0.  Amartey was playing Centre Back.  I guess a clean sheet, means he did OK - I haven't seen a match report yet ?

Lord Montagu of Beaulieu?

I've no doubt he has the ability. I just don't see a burning desire in him to boss games or reach the top, top level. He looks too weak and passive to be a CB to me.

He just needs to stop hesitating and literally get stuck in battles in his area.

Like Musa, he's probably lacking in confidence ever since he arrived.
