I'd drop him for the next game.  I no Hamer isn't up to it but he needs to no he isn't undropable.  Cost us quite a few goals this season already.

Hamer is a bottom half Championship level keeper at best. No way can you pick a team and think it's stronger picking Hamer over Schmeichel.

I remember Mike Stowell getting criticism for Schmeichel being poor at crosses like 4 years ago. He doesnt seem to have improved. I always thought he would end up at Man Utd but you don't really see De Gea flapping crosses all the time.

Kasper is a fantastic keeper and is one of the top goalies in the Premier League. He saves us points time and time again. He makes so many worldie saves that we are used to it and think it’s the norm when it isn’t. He has weaker points like all goalkeepers. Kasper’s are definitely free kicks and to a lesser extent crosses. His issues with these are perhaps because for a modern day goalie, he is relatively short. Against this he has agility and a tremendous instinct when in a one on one situation, whereas other bigger keepers like say Courtois, dominate their goal and their area but can be slower getting down to shots. We’ve seen errors recently from other higher profile goalies like De Gea, Lloris, and Cech.

He’s certainly better than the majority of Premiership goalies. Take out the ‘top 6’ team goalies and Pickford at Everton and look at who is left, he’s better and more proven than the rest of them. Look at Mignolet at Liverpool, Hart and Adrian at West Ham, Begovic, Forster, Foster, Butland etc etc he’s more reliable than these guys. Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Anyone who says get rid. I say fine, tell us a replacement who is an improvement AND who is a realistic target for LCFC.

I think it would do some good for Schmeichel to get dropped for a match.

No player should be guaranteed a starting place no matter how badly they perform.

Then hopefully he'll come back and put in some improved performances (unless Hamer stands in and plays well in which case just keep him in the team)

Start by sacking Stowell and bringing in a top class GK coach, think Norwich have the England gk coach who is very highly rated, get someone like him in.

that said if we can sell Kasper and buy Butland for similar money do it

Reminiscent of Schmeichel back in the days dropping howlers at Doncaster and Blackpool. He's come a long way since throwing the ball into his own net at Doncaster and he's probably top 3 players of this era at this club.  But he's looking a bit dodgy this season.

My worry is he's gone a little stale at the club, has little competition for his place, look complacent to me. Can't remember the last game were he was top draw and was the reason for us picking up extra points.

Need kick up the arse.

Probably one of the last games under Shakespeare where we were playing to lose 1-0, hoping to knick 0-0 v the likes of Huddersfield, Bournemouth and west brom.

I've been saying for ages that his 'non-actions' at corners are giving his defence massive problems. For god's sake just come off your line and grab the ball! (Or at least punch it clear). We all know he is a brilliant shot stopper and sometimes I think he stays on the line simply to show off this super side of his game. Worry is, now it's other set plays and direct free kicks. Yuno wot - I reckon in open play our defence must be pretty darned good, cos nearly all goals conceded are the result if corners or free kicks.

Butland isn’t an improvement on Schmeichel

Bit harsh - he's not perfect but he's a good shot-stopper and commands the area well. Poor distribution but Maguire can play out from the back so it's not a huge disadvantage at this moment in time

With regards to dealing with crosses, if it is a corner, I was told his style is to leave it for his defenders to deal with it.

I was told this a couple of years ago. Some keepers come out, some don’t, but it’s all planned beforehand so you can’t argue whose job it was.

At corners, you will always (unless it’s blatantly obvious) find Kasper stays put and leaves it to the defence to clear. This is his style and it won’t change and our defenders know they have to deal with the crosses.

The England GK coach moved to Southampton years ago.

Has everyone gone mad? Kasper is a top 4 keeper any day of the week.

Which is why we don’t get bids for him, good player yes but not as good as he is hyped to be

Top 6 is about fair I think.

Ederson

De Gea

Courtois

Cech and Lloris have made howlers as well and both Liverpool keepers are wank.

Personally I still think Kasper is more than good enough but he is rightly getting criticised for a sloppy season, as I've said before, he needs another keeper at the club to push for his place and at present he knows the other keepers here are no threat to him, even when he is under par.

The manager may well be doing a fair bit of business in the summer and I would not be surprised if he was to look at bringing in a new keeper though it obviously would not be his top priority at present.

I think we need to get a new goal keeping coach to bring in fresh ideas l, stowell been here along time and sometimes you take things for granted and get lazy

Hes in our top 10 imo.!

Of all the goalies that I’ve seen since I started going to city (from the latter part of Wallington’s career), Kasper has been the best.
