Clever Fox Posted 30 December 2017 Posted 30 December 2017 Plenty of Stars in that first half. None more than NDidi, Amartey, Maguire Kasper. Keep it up lads.

Morgan bar one or two moments has been exceptional too. These 3 need to be exceptional for the 2nd 45. Mahrez and Gray have been pretty much anonymous
49er Posted 30 December 2017 Posted 30 December 2017 Amartey is trying his best - a couple of good tackles in the box, but his distribution is poor and Liverpool are targeting him - Robertson down the left, slips the ball past Amartey for Coutinho/ Mane to run into the box. In a game like this, where Liverpool's strength is attack, not sure that we should be playing both Gray and Mahrez, as we are short in midfield. Not sure whether we should consider bringing on James? Defensively, Liverpool are vulnerable (I doubt that van Dijk will make much of a difference) but we can't get at them because we keep giving the ball away. Morgan and Fuchs have played well, as have Ndidi and Iborra
WoodyFox Posted 30 December 2017 Posted 30 December 2017 Okazaki on for Gray please... Gray totally ineffectual in that position behind the striker.
Blue ROI Posted 30 December 2017 Posted 30 December 2017 We've been a little bit better towards the end of the half but we couldn't have complained if Liverpool were around 2 goals ahead at the break. Defence has done well so far but we're struggling at midfield. I'd take a draw from this.

sdb Posted 30 December 2017 Posted 30 December 2017 Wilfred wowowowowowow. Keep it up. Long 45 to come ??
Vacamion Posted 30 December 2017 Posted 30 December 2017 Jammy to still be ahead. But holding off a class attack. If we can get Shinji on before we are 2-1 down in the 72nd minute, I'll have more confidence we can get something here. Gray AND Mahrez appear to be a luxury in the situation we are in. Otherwise, Even if we get a jammy, against the run of play second goal, you get the feeling that won't be enough. Maguire must be worth 90 million, by the way.
RGFox Posted 30 December 2017 Posted 30 December 2017 v lucky first half, second half will has the inevitability of lfc scoring twice in second half... ffs why cant midfield hold the ball and play simple passes!!! why does kasper bother with kicking the ball out ...his distribution has been woeful
yorkie1999 Posted 30 December 2017 Posted 30 December 2017 Just need to win that second ball and anticipate a bit quicker, every header, bounce and stray ball ends up at a Liverpool players foot. Nice to see a player at the back post for a change. And target Milner for a second yellow

justfoxes Posted 30 December 2017 Posted 30 December 2017 COME ON YOU BEAUTIFUL BLUE ARMY LETS GET ANOTHER COUPLE THIS HALF KEEP THESE SCOUSE CNUTS (even tho they’re world class players !!?) AT BAY !!
EnglishOxide Posted 30 December 2017 Posted 30 December 2017 I'd actually like to see Matty James come on for Albrighton and slot into midfield. Help out Iborra and Ndidi. Close the midfield. And Musa on for Mahrez. Yeah he can't hold the ball but think of the pace we would have upfront.

Don’t know why shinji doesn’t start. However if we’re going to persist without Okazaki in the first 11 (), maybe Thomas might thrive behind the striker? Then in the summer we can try Barnes there and have Thomas, Barnes & Okazaki for that position & keep Gray on the wing. 1

lozzyblue fox Posted 30 December 2017 Posted 30 December 2017 Hate how we go into panic/defense mode when winning. If this is puels tactics then I can understand why Southampton fans started to get frustrated.
Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 30 December 2017 Posted 30 December 2017 If we could get a second goal early this half, that would really play into our hands counterattacking wise hopefully.
