Six years ago today.

We signed Westley Morgan from Forest for £1m. Nigel Pearson's second signing since returning (the other being a certain Mr Drinkwater). Six months later, as a result of his strong performances, he was awarded the captaincy of Leicester City Football Club.

Since then...

Captain when we pushed for that play-off spot.

Captain on Deeney Day.

Captain when we set a new club record for consecutive wins (9).

Captain when we were promoted to the Premier League.

Captain when he lifted the Football League Trophy.

Captain when we overturned a 3-1 deficit to beat Man Utd 5-3.

Captain when we were rooted to the bottom of the league for 6 months.

Captain when we couldn't buy a point.

Captain when we looked doomed at the start of April, 7 points off safety.

Captain when we turned it all around.

Captain when we won 7 out of 9 to pull off the Greatest Escape.

Captain when we surprised everyone with our great start.

Captain when we kept it up.

Captain for 36 games without a booking.

Captain at the Etihad when shit got real.

Captain at the Emirates when Arsenal won the league on Valentine's Day.

Captain when we ground out every 1-0.

Captain when we just. kept. going.

Captain fantastic equalising at Old Trafford to take us within a point of winning the league.

Captain when he was being dragged around Jamie Vardy's kitchen floor after Chelsea equalised.

Captain for every minute of that season - every 3420 of them.

Captain when he lifted the Premier League Trophy with Claudio Ranieri.

Captain when he paraded the trophy to 250,000 people.

Captain when it went wrong again.

Captain when he put us ahead against Sevilla.

Captain when he rushed back from injury to put in a proper captain's performance in the Champions League Quarter Finals against Atletico Madrid.

Captain still, as we evolve into a top team.

Scored at Old Trafford to take us a point within winning the Premier League Title

Scored at the King Power to help take us to the Quarter Finals of the Champions League.

Hard to argue we haven’t had value for money! ?

This is like one of them you tube films of perspective players. Yes he is and has been a great player for us. But you fail to mention him being captain for some other bits. Being awful in the great escape until Huth arrived. Not being an on field leader as captain. Going missing at set pieces. Oh and one of the biggest hoofers at the club.

We have by far but as above he has a lot of faults. He's not the perfect player the OP makes him out to be.

Never said he was perfect. Of course he's flawed. Most great leaders are. That's what makes him such a legend.

I am agreed. But is there not two sides to every coin. Better still ban everyone that does not agree or conform.

No one is perfect son. But Wes is pretty close.

Debut at Norwich in the FA Cup after Pearson dropped Captain Matt Mills and put Wes straight into the team, as I recall.

Wasn't that the match (a 2-1 win, when we were Championship and they were PL) after which Mills allegedly caused a scene in the dressing-room and NP ordered him to go and sit on the bus? Did he ever play for us again after that?

What a superb signing he's been. His long career at Forest is entirely forgiven. Wonder what he'll do after he stops playing?

Wes has been immense for us.

A few posts have just reminded me that for all Pearson’s flaws, he was also fantastic for us. Completely turned the club around, without him we could quite easily still be in the Championship.

Stubborn, obnoxious and sometimes just an absolute pr!ck. However his strength, man management and leadership are second to none. To drop the club captain and then make him sit on the bus (allegedly) is absolutely hilarious but also brilliant. The majority of (and most successful) players we’ve had loved him and are where they are now because of him.
