Absolute farce. All the neutrals questioning Ranieri's sacking by saying 'he should have been given the chance to turn it around' only need to look at that list of shite.

Part of the problem there is how many did Ranieri actually want?

This is the example I've always used when people start questioning the  Ranieri fallout.

In a few cases it's came as quite a big surprise.

Is liked to have seen more of Mendy, bit unfortunate he got injured. I don't think we were able to service slim, he might have come good. Be interesting to see how he fares at Newcastle.

absolutely embarrassing that we ****ed up such a position of power like that tbh.

we won the league, had CL football to offer and we basically signed a load of absolute ****ing dog for nothing.

only player worth his place is Slimani and we've never utilised him properly anyway.

I think it's absolutely outrageous that all of the strikers that we still have all play exactly the same game. we've literally gone back to having zero plan-B half way through a season.

Nearly all of them never really got a chance or were played out of position.

The only one who was utter crap is Musa.

Kaputska should have his own X-File to find out on which basis we signed him

obviously no one knows how new signings will get on or if they will gel into the team but these recruitments were poor and feels like not much effort or thought went in to them! kinda reminded me a bit of the recruitment by Sven those years back! Mendy and Kapustka were both young and Mendy got injured early on but that is the danger of recruiting from abroad as you never know how those players will adapt to playing in this country!.

Thought they were wrong as i was convinced Benalouane was another signing of that window, forgot he was there in the title winning season (before the loan move to Fiorentina).

also, the reason we barely saw these players is because Ranieri / Shakespeare obviously felt they needed to buy players but then showed a ridiculous amount of loyalty to the existing squad members.

Puel - as seen yesterday is the only manager since the PL win willing to move on dead-wood like Ulloa, Kingy, etc.

The only problem is, we will have to wait until the summer to see what he's going to do with regards bringing people in.

But he's shown with Diabate already that if he brings in a new player, he's going in the squad ASAP - not sitting him on the bench for 6 months for him to 'settle in' to English football.

we're the only ****ing team that does that, I swear.

lol

That really does sum it all up.

What an amazing chance we had to get some real quality in, for the next few years. And they’ve all left...

Amazing

Amazing isn't it that this guy has been stealing a living here for 3 years nearly. One of the worst signings of this era.

We all knew we had ballsed it up at the time as well. We're the 7th best side now, despite that window. Ah, what could have been...

Rather than celebrate the fact we have got rid of players that are clearly not good enough or don't fit our style it brings back the massive frustration of the opportunity we had to kick on but wasted it.

Exactly this. Hopefully now under Puel we can start identifying targets that will fit the new passing style we've adopted. It doesn't matter whether we spend £2m on a player or £30m as long as they are the right player that will fit in with the team. Like you pointed out, most of our signings just didn't fit our style, it's not that they were all bad players. Except Musa. He is a pretty poor player

Kapustka was definitely a Ranieri choice. He saw him at the Euros, was impressed and iniated the deal. I think the same is true for Mendy. Walsh wanted Idris Gueye based on his stats when Kante left, but Ranieri preferred Mendy because he knew him from his time in France.

Regardless of who signed them it was terrible both in terms of the players and the fit into the wider team.

on the bright side it looks like things we getting better.  ndiddi, Iborra, Maguire, Dragovic even Nacho and Silva look like they decent players to one extent or another

Rumours about Kapustka was it was purely Rudkin, I struggle to see how that was Ranieri considering we didn’t see him kick a ball for 6 months.

Mendy- We scouted him when Pearson was here and were linked for a few windows.

You can point to one reason or another for it but a key to our **** up was our scouting network being demolished and Walsh going. Looks like we panicked and bought shite but anyway, that has been discussed enough.
