I think we were same row then! Or were you just in front? I was with my lad with the red lensed glasses, on the end 2 seats right next to the segregation.

And I did see the guy with the hat. ?

Yeah was definitely in front of you I think. I moaned about the seats when I first got there (because I always end up in the same bit every time I go there) and then the guy behind which must have been you agreed.

Yes it was! See you at West Brom then....right on the segregation. ?

I think you said you are doing the buying after that for the next away. ?

haah that's right! Yeah about the bad seats on sale first.

Have to see if we're near you at WBA away.

1. I think this is a very good subject for the Forum, as clearly we have different opinions and it would be nice to reach some understanding. The last thing I want to do is have a row with a fellow City supporter.

2. I want to stand at all the games I attend, & I do so at home & away (except at HT when I sit down for a rest).

3. We need to accommodate both those that want to stand & those that want to sit (so there does have to be some sort of middle ground).

4. At away matches (I only go to a few each season) I hardly ever occupy the exact seat as that allocated on my ticket, and assume that others do the same (admittedly I am one of those who leave the concourse shortly before k.o. so often find I have no choice).

5. I want to stand near, preferably amongst, the noisey lot as I like singing too ( I call it singing but I am tone deaf). They're easy to find as they are, it seems to me, standing too.

6. If I am correct about point number 4, why don't those who want to sit make their way to the front & occupy those rows, whilst the noisey & often foul-mouthed lot (me included I make no apology) make their way to the back? The "standing rows" are at the back of the KP afterall.

7. If I reach 70 (not that much more than a decade away) I will probably still want to go to games but might not be able to stand throughout the whole game. I don't want my enjoyment ruined by not being able to see, so I do have sympathy with those that want to sit.

8. I forget what 8 was for.

9. We are there to support each other & have a good time (win, lose or draw), so let's help each other enjoy the match.

10. And ten, ten, for everything, everything, everything.

My apologies , I made my point crudely maybe the Club can help by ensuring those that want to sit can get a seat towards the front of away games etc...

I cant sit at an away game it feels like I’m letting the team down because when your sat down all atmosphere dies

it was a fairly poor away end yesterday even in the first half and maybe some of that as due to the large amount of people sitting, I respect the right of anyone to sit but also I would expect them to understand if we stood up like the vast majority.

Sitting or standing yesterday was embarrassing all round

I do whatever the area around me dictates. If everyone stands, which is my preferable choice, then I stand. If everyone is seated then I sit. Pretty simple really. It's usually once a year that this topic comes up.

I am not too sure whether the club can do too much other than unreserved seating as they don't want to encourage standing at seated stadiums. It was only a couple of years ago that the stewards were telling everyone to sit constantly. Fortunately this has slacked off a little bit. It's only going to take a few people moaning about it for it to be ruined for everyone.

We all support the same team. Be understanding to those around you and don't be a dick.

I hate the whole "ohhhh they're sitting" shite. Like I said above, I always stand at away games where I can but I'll not begrudge anyone sitting down. They'll be a time when I'm forced to sit.

Away its OK sitting if you are vocal. People on here say you can support how you like but if youare mute away how are you supporting the club when all money goes to the home side and often you have deprived someone of a ticket . I  say this as a OAP.

The problem is the club can't be seen to do anything to promote or support standing at games, they can't designate a standing section when selling tickets and they can't enforce anything. I don't know how tickets are allocated for away games. Do you pick your seat or just get allocated a ticket?

The club could sell tickets as either front or back, but most people don't want the very front rows or back rows so that would piss people off, even if they did try and allocate tickets by preference nothing stops people selling on tickets.

Until we get safe standing or unreserved seating it will be a muddle and you just have to be respectful of fellow fans. Or someone acts as a fan co-ordinator who helps fans switch seats so those that can't stand can sit near the front.

While I understand some people can't stand for the entire game I'd be on the side of I couldn't sit for 45 minutes, its the way I am. If we got near the goal I'd stand up it's just natural which I'm sure would be even more annoying for those around me. It does build yet another argument for safe standing, allowing away ends to safely segregate in to people who want to sit and those who want to stand.

One thing I would say though is how much I hate people that are desperate to cling on to their seats. Millwall away last year our whole end was stood, I was front row of the top tier, didn't intend on sitting but the man behind me (rudely) told me to sit down, at which point I asked if he would like to switch seats as those behind him were stood. Literally one row forward and he refused to do it and threatened to call stewards, luckily for me a group of people a few rows back saw what was going on and called us to join them on their row

If there is a thread on this can someone move it ???

Yesterday was my first away end in years where a large number of people sat down , now I know coach 1 old people often do in first rows at spurs etc....

but last night 100+ people sat down to the right in the middle of the upper tier from the start of the game and it caused a lot of issues as there was people mingled in who wanted to stand and the sitting people got a bit wound up

I stand in the away ends always have and some bloke behind me kept saying “sit down” and even asked me to move out of his way, it was getting so annoying that I almost snapped but he was with two young boys and only a dick would snap at a man with kids. I didn’t sit for the whole game and I tried to not block his view but in the end I was quite pissed by it

So whats the concensus on FT , do we sit or stand in the away end ?

What about squatting as another option?

Where you in the lower tier with two British Asian guys?

I had 2 kids with me.

If everyone had stood up then those in the back row couldn't have seen the game properly.

I was pissed off at the attitude of the 3 guys in front of me who just walked in to an area where everyone was sitting and then decided they'd stand up in the front row.

I physically cannot stand for 45 minutes at a time.....how does that fit in?

I'm the same. I have a disability and struggle with my legs. It's almost enough to put me off wanting to go to away games sometimes if i know i have to stand up for 90 minutes. i was in the bottom tier on saturday, maybe only 9-10 rows from the front and still had to stand up. Some elderly women got abuse for asking the young lads infront of them to sit down.

I get that a lot of people like to stand up, but i don't understand what difference i makes. It doesn't affect the atmosphere (contrary to popular belief, it IS possible to sing and clap sitting down). Why do some people get aggressive when asked to sit down?

I would never fall out with people over it but I just like to watch football stood up. I don't feel involved at all if I sat down and for me you might as well be in the pub or at home watching it. Let's be honest, those who sit at away games aren't interested in creating any atmosphere and that's what going to the games is all about in my opinion.

So are you suggesting that you have to sing and shout to be able to call yourself a fan worthy of taking a ticket?

I barely sing at games, I don't go to games just to sing and shout. i go because i love football and i love Leicester City. I cheer when we score, applaud good football and give encouragement when i feel its needed.

Are you really suggesting that because i don't sing constantly that i'm not deserving of a ticket?

What do you do at home games, stand near the back?

Stop judging fans by how much noise they make and perhaps have a bit more respect for those who aren't as vocal but have perhaps been going for 40 odd years.

lol People are more than welcome to do what they want, i'm a pretty liberal guy. I just personally don't understand how sitting in silence is really any more enjoyable than sitting in the pub watching it, for example.

Sorry if that's offensive.

I'm pretty vocal myself, just don't understand why some judge others by whether they stand and sing.

Sometimes I'm happy surfing the internet for decent pornography.

Other times I enjoy peering through a steamy car window, in a rainsoaked car park, to get the glimpse of a naked sperm-soaked thigh.

Never been into singing or standing. Sorry. My ticket, I'll do what I like. I don't go to away games mind.

Hopefully safe standing comes along sooner rather than later so those of you who want to do those things can together safely as is your equal right. You've got no right to get pissy with people who watch the game differently though.
