Hopefully after Riyad is sold this one moves fast, don't want anyone else to get him.

I’m sure we will somehow **** it all up...

Standard. I can't believe how few player's we've actually been linked with attacking wise, i guess it could be a blessing in disguise if we sign someone we had no idea about next week.

I hear you, I got offended even reading your post. So I'll rest easy tonight knowing the police have done their job.

I am glad the police have done there job, but I am slightly worried now that in 15 years a university or job she she is going for will look back and find this. She will then be found unexceptable and people will make comments about it, because they will take everything out of context and use small amounts of detail to make things sound bad, so they can moan about things that don’t really matter.

Think we have to be sure that we can offload a couple of Slimani, Ulloa or Musa before we can bring anyone in upfront, just too much dead weight earning bank here.

Do Wolves need a main striker with Portuguese League experience? Buy one get one free, get a pacey winger with Champions League experience thrown in!terms an conditions apply: only if wages of both are covered in full

Said you buy one you get one free! Make sure you get in early for next years Dead Weig . . . . I mean Excellent Player(at previous club) Sale! Remember, they had potential, maybe they still do! Roll the dice today (t&c's apply)

Went off there, none of that is relevant to Maddison he does look a handy talent

I heard a good description of Harry Kane the other day looking like a wax work of Tom Cruise who has been left by a radiator

Eh, more like Butthead from Beavis and Butthead, but he does look melted.

This signing needs to get moving.  Forget about Mahrez, forget about his injury, just get it done.

We can't hang around as Everton are interested and we always lose out to Everton for players.

Why don't they just announce it yet?

For whatever reason, I think they want riyad done and dusted before moving on and confirming other deals away from the defence

I thought it would be the other way around. To "soften the blow" like they said.

Just so you know when a player transfers club, a fee has to be agreed between both clubs and then the players contract needs to be agreed a medical passed and agents fees sorted

They aren’t bothered about things like that - they know what’s going on and it doesn’t concern them that a few saddos in this forum are chewing the fat on it all

Whilst we seem to want Maddison, if mahrez was to stay then the picture would be different for the intended playing set up. Until mahrez has actually gone then I doubt the club will put pen to paper on anyone outside of the back four.  Man City could suddenly decide to pull the plug at the last minute if their circumstances change. That’s hugely unlikely but there doesn’t seem to be anyone else prepared to pay what Man City are so if that fell through then mahrez would prob have to stay.

patience ..... and I suspect if there is a deal agreed with JM and Norwich then the delay is likely working in our favour to re assess his knee injury.

Other than Maddison, have you heard of any other names we may be after?  Or positions even if you haven't heard names.

I hope you're right, but everything I'm reading is saying that Everton are about to bid.

We may be closer to home but let's face it Merseyside is straight down the M6 to Cov.  He might even commute.  If it's a two way fight, history tells us that the player will chose the bigger club and that ain't us.

I wonder if that would make Gylfi availabe?

...still no reason for derogatory comments though!!!!

Terrific player....ignorant human being.

Amazing that you have such fantastic judgement and intuition to write someone off as an ignorant human being based on a single, banal, 5 year old tweet from when he was a minor.  That is quite a skill you have!

Just to be a pedant, the M6 bisects Manchester and Liverpool, so a move to Everton wouldn't be quite as easy as implied. Besides, ever tried using the M6 regularly? It's not fun.

Everton are in a bit of a mess, they have bought poorly over the last couple of seasons and find themselves with a huge squad on big wages and they can't shift them. They're already said they need to sell before buying. I'd imagine they'd try and buy a player if they thought he was tremendous value but they can't afford to buy a player like Maddison and find out in a couple of months that he might not be an improvement on what they have and be lumbered with another player.

The three behind the striker they have:

Bolassie

Rooney

Mirallis

Walcott

Sigurdsson

Klassen

Vlasic

Lookman

I also think Everton are more or less in the same ballpark as us and for a player like Maddison the fact that he can live in Coventry and a lot of his England U21 mates play for Leicester would swing it for him to choose us if the salary was the same.

I'm sure he might be able to afford the M6 toll.  :)

But yes, I regularly drive up to The Lakes and have spent many an hour of misery on that bloomin' M6.
