Oooya! Some progress. Hopefully this lad will be good for us and not too weighed down with a level of expectation that comes with a big fee.

Gotta say, if this comes off, we've signed one good players in positions we need. Much better business so far. Just need to get rid of a few.

If we've got Maddison and  Roberts coming in (with Mahrez out) we've got the makings of a young and balanced squad. Any signings after that would be interesting. I guess it depends who we've got that can step up from the development squad, and who we off load.

Always quite liked Southampton, and had us as very similarly sized clubs until 2 years ago. Identical grounds as well.

The league win, CL quarter final, increase in fanbase & fame that brought plus stadium expansion when it's done put us on another level to them now though.

I'd like to think most players would come to us over them, despite Southampton being on the coast and Hampshire being a nice place to live. Leicestershire is a cracking county too anyway- some fantastic places to live.

Imagine playing under Hughes as well, as much as I don't take to Puel least he shows some passion Hughes on the other hand is like a dog ready to chew your face off

I think this is key. We need to offload some deadwood and I think we need a winger to come in and replace Mahrez who is significantly better than Roberts, but we don't have a problem position like we had for the last few years- we've been very light on RBs, CMs, CAMs at different stages.

Say what you like about Puel, but it appears as though he's got his assessment of the squad and what we need to bring in spot on. Hopefully he can implement his system properly now we've got the players for it.

He might like the sea.

He is slightly pale so won´t take the sun. Leicester is not sunny - deal done :)

can’t think of a single reason why he’d rather go to Southampton

The Maddison thread on Saintsweb is only 3 pages long.

Harvey Barnes had half a very good season in the Championship. James Maddison had that and half more. Maddison seems like he might be more involved in matches. But twenty million is still mind boggling. I remember being amazed at Ulloa's when we went up. We've paid more than three times that for a player in a lower league. Crazy times.

Maddison has worn number 23 at his last couple clubs, easy chant to adapt then...
