Stupid handshake alert... abort the transfer now, we're not Spurs.

So won't belong before we get all the Norwich fans telling us that he's a crap show pony.

They can't speak highly enough of him actually. Hopped onto their forum and lots of comments about him being future England starter and will be playing in Prem for many years. Their stand out player last season by absolute mile and too good for championship etc. All good things from what I've seen!

That was the one particular thing in that video that absolutely infuriated me, I can’t abide these nonsense things, like the silly thumb sucking goal celebrations. It just provokes violent thoughts doesn’t it!

Also noticed he hits the post a lot. Not impressed with that.

It seems like I’m a lone voice here in this “I’m more excited than you” fest, and I hope I just got unlucky wirh the few times I saw him play,  but ....  I was completely underwhelmed by him and couldn’t understand the hype from the, (admittedly), tiny glimpse I had of him. I thought he looked a bit lightweight. Gallagher-esque.  He may well have talent and potential, but is he ready right now for a wet Tuesday evening in Stoke? Oh wait .......

I've never seen him play but he's English, 21 years old who got 14 goals and 8 assists and created more chances than anyone in the Championship last season and all for an average Championship side.  You won't go too far wrong signing arguably the best player in the Championship especially when they're that young.

At worst he becomes an average PL player and is still worth about £12m-£15m you would think.

From the clips I have seen of him he has very good footballing skills with touch, passing and dribbling, he's no Musa technically that's for sure. He'll also up our level at free kicks and corners. This is the sort of player the club should be looking to bring in more often than not, some of the best young talent we can buy who the sky is the limit.

Of all the obligatory YouTube clips of midfielders we’ve been linked with, his is the best.

Hope Mahrez returns his gloves to the club before he departs

It’s being reported he has chosen to sign for Leicester and will undergo a medical and sign a 5 year deal today or tomorrow

I know nothing about him....

Do we expect him to start?

Where does he play?

is he better than what we have currently?

I really don't think we should underestimate the difference it could make to the team in having someone who can take decent free kicks and corners as well.

Yes good point, we are terrible at set pieces for a team with so many players who are good in the air.

I'll also say that for a few years now we've lacked an out and out creative play maker type midfielder. I thought Silva would be that player, but he's more of a box-to-box dynamo (though good on the ball too). So it's a good signing to make for that reason.

I think we all have to be patient with him though, which is my one hesitation with the transfer fee. I am not convinced he will go straight into the first team. Could be different gravy after a settling in period though.

Could do with him signing today, that £60 will go down nicely during the England games this week lol

I couldn't agree more. If I was a manager one of the first things I would want from my team is to be highly proficient on defending and attacking corners and it's great if you can have a free kick specialist in your ranks.

I remember the O'Neill teams were brilliant at corners. One year it took us until February to concede a headed goal in the PL and the likes of Elliott, Walsh and Taggart would regularly get about 15 goals between them from centre half. We almost used to force teams to pass through us to score and got plenty of cheap goals at the other end for ourselves from set pieces and corners.

It does still seem insane that we are spending £20m+ on a player, never mind a 21yr old from the Championship. My brain struggles to get around this fact despite our spending over the last few years!

I am glad we've nearly got this over the line and I'm happy it's Maddison rather than Grealish we've got in.

Even if we get two good years out of him before the big boys come knocking, and it would seem based off his prospective capabilities. I hope we've negotiated a solid contract cos I can see him excelling with us and I think Puel could get the most out of him, which is going to piss off a lot of the PuelOuts.
