We won’t sell now. With the statements the club have made about him not being for sale etc. The amount of sh*t Puel & the owners would get off the fans would be unreal selling this late. I think if it’s to happen he’ll go in January. Be very very surprised if we sold up now.

If we got Soyunca and Benkovic in and sold Maguire for the best part of £80m then I don't think anyone will think we've been rolled over let alone attack Puel and the owners for sanctioning it. A quite bizarre comment if I'm honest.

Agreed. I think this has potential to be Maguire's peak value if I'm honest. Of course he could have another stand out season and that fee increases, but after the WC plus his age, I think anything over £70m plus add-ons could be good business for us. He is potentially only a few blunders away from his fee dropping to £40-50m next Summer.

I'd like to keep him, but with these 2 promising CB's coming in and Evans, I can see the owner's rationale if he does go for a huge fee.

Soyunca and Benkovic are young and have no PL experience and certainly can't be seen as Maguire replacements. If Maguire goes, and Evans continues with his injury, we are looking at Morgan and Benny starting for the foreseeable future. I think if we aren't competing for European places in January, it's possible Maguire will go, especially if Man U have are in panic mode, but just can't see it happening now.

Also nice Rob Dorsett piece on Jack Grealish not going to “Hottenham Tottspur” lol

I really hate Sky and Man Utd

Edit: Why does this picture look like Harry and Lukaku getting a bit "physical" in the tackle :o

You can understand why he'd want to go to sham utd... And for a world record fee bye bye! I think with the business we look to complete this window we could be ok without him...

I wonder if there is dialogue between Man Utd, Leicester and Maguire?

Could be Leicester and Maguire are close to agreeing terms with Man Utd but only if we land both of these centre halves. Maguire, Evans and the potential two new signing and Morgan seems overkill.

I would be surprised if he didn't want to go to man Utd if I'm being honest. Sign the 2 new lads ,get 75 million plus and move on, it's modern day football.

Classic Sky. No quotes, no link to anything/anyone reliable, no reported movement from either club. Running a rehash of the Soyuncu and Benkovic reports and twisting it to suit a 'juicy story' 48hours before we play United. This despite local journalists saying nothing has changed on Maguire's position and he won't be leaving.

'Sky Sources' - cut the bollocks.

Sky Sources are as relevant nowadays as teletext, ie not at all.

I'd actually forgotten that the transfer window shuts tomorrow.

Well, not exactly forgotten, but it's kinda snuck up on me a bit.

The hype really needs to be separated from reality. Let’s be honest, it’s quite a quiet end to the window, for the PL. Sky are just trying to stir up the interest.

Worth noting

In April, a Canadian company (the parent of Poker Stars) announced the acquisition of Sky Bet.  Apparently there was an anti-trust inquiry, but the deal was completed last month.

Whatever skullduggery may have happened in the past, the two are now separate entities.

I forget it closes before the season starts now. For the record, I think a lot of this is all BS to make a bigger crowd for Friday

They've run a piece immediately after saying Boateng still wants to go and is also hoping for a move. Laughable really.

SkyBet actually have 4/6 on Maguire to be at Leicester and 11/10 to leave Leicester this window so it's not too far away from being a coin flip whether he stays or goes.

Was much lower to stay at Leicester yesterday so pulling it back in a bit. Just above evens was the best I'd seen for him to stay. How accurately this reflects anything at all is anyone's guess
