Aren’t all the own brand ones made by Heinz anyway? Just more juice and less beans in em? :dunno:

Never had baked beans in my life.

This should be in the Unpopular Opinions thread - or we should create an Astonishing Revelations thread or something. Either that or you're a dry-humoured troll.

Mind you, it's decades since I consumed any Bovril (despite consuming Marmite almost every day).

I used to be all about the Heinz, but the Asda in Thurmaston actually ran out once so i had to go for the Asda brand (not the low salt) tin, and i haven't gone back to Heinz since. A fraction of the cost, softer beans and better flavoured sauce!

It's true. My Dad worked in a factory that produced them, too. Not sure if the two things are related. I like beans in general just not canned baked beans.

That looks like my cat's just hacked up into a bowl.

Well mate it tastes f**king delicious with steak, tortillas, fried eggs, and poblanos.

Another crap food that we as a country put on a pedestal

Nobody's putting them on a pedestal. Just a little nostalgic affection. Most of us grew up with them as a staple of our meals because they're cheap, readily available and full of wholesome roughage. I'm just sorry the rest of us weren't fortunate enough to grow up eating haute cuisine like you obviously did.

Tbh it doesn't matter which brand they are once I've finished cooking mushrooms, birdseyes, Worcestershire and a cheeky sprinkle of sage and pepper into em.
