Off to Atalanta, be very surprised if they are paying £20 million for him

Wow, that's a fall from grace.

I thought he was the best thing since sliced bread from what I read on here.

"Fall from grace". lol

Atalanta are a more than decent outfit. Top-notch training facilities, Europa League playoffs just around the corner.

By no means a level down from us. In fact, he's probably better off there sportive-wise than he is here.

He was if you compared him to Wes Morgan

Fall from grace? They're in European competitions consistently, unlike us.

Dragovic was fine. Wasn't a world beater but he was easily good enough to start for us. He's moving to a decent side. What are the digs all about?

This thread should come to a closure soon. Dragovic is no longer a Leicester City (loan) player and it's unlikely he ever will be again.

He is a very good centre-back and he was good enough for us, and, given the fact that he's seven years younger, certainly better potential-wise than a 34-year old Wes Morgan (who has a starting sport guarantee these days still due to his captaincy and Puel's trust in him).

It's not the fact that we think Dragovic was good enough for us that matters, it's that Puel has decided against him for whatever reason, be it sportive or personal.

I wish Dragovic well at Atalanta, and that's that.

Thought he did a good job when required whilst he was here. Would of thought that we would of made his move permanent but not too fussed as we looked towards younger players in the window.

I wish him all the best at Atlanta.

It's a dig at the people or perpetuate the myth that he was amazing and loads better than Wes. I've been through it all before and can't be arsed to check again, but we won something like 1 league game with him playing. I've had to argue against people saying we didn't concede when he played (False), that he was dropped after 5 clean sheets (False... even if it was true, two games were against Fleetwood and they should have scored!), that we improved with him in the team (debatable considering we were 8th with Wes playing already).

He was fine, no more no less. I'd liked to have seen more of the bloke, but at the end of the day we don't know what goes on behind the scenes. If he has no intention of staying, then I completely back Puel's decision to keep playing Wes. He'd done fine most of the season, yes he was fairly poor when he came back after injury, but it's no coincidence that his worst games came when N'didi was missing and we got exposed at the back. If he doesn't get protection Wes will look awful as he gets pulled all over the place.

Including the game he replaced Wes, we had three consecutive league shutouts (and the two Fleetwood matches which is how people get 5 straight shutouts), and we took 8 points from his first 5 games in that stretch, followed by the 5-1 thumping at Man City after which Wes took his job back. Though IDK why how many games we won when he played is this relevant to whether he was better than Wes -- what, that 0-0 match at Chelsea he played doesn't count bc his teammates couldn't score?

I never saw anyone argue we never conceded when he played, that is matter of record and we obviously conceded, we conceded 5 in that Man City game alone.

In any event, he appeared to me to be an above-average Prem-quality starter who we controlled via an option to buy, but we got Evans for much cheaper, tough to fault that decision. Though Evans hopefully won't spend so much time on the injury list that we wind up wishing we'd gone with Dragovic.
