At times, it'd help if some posters would see past the right-hand-side stats on Wikipedia and could be bothered reading the whole article.

It's not as if there is no translating help online.

Bonnevay was assistant manager for the past seven years or so, up until Japan sacked Halilhodzic in April, which meant he had to leave, too. Of course, being assistant manager involves arranging of or participating in training sessions also.

His first job after coming back from Morocco was taking care of the FC Nantes youth academy, which he did for two years, also managing their second team in the process.

Sounds like fake news to me ;-p

If only we'd sacked Puel after his 8 game honeymoon period... :ph34r:lol

As I said in another thread, I want him to be successful because that means my team is doing well.

I'm not convinced about him - or the owners decision to keep him on - but generally speaking the owners have made some astute decisions so fingers crossed.

I'm not 100% either, we served up some absolute dross in that second half of the season. Willing to give him a chance after the attacking football we played in the last 2 games and positive start to the transfer window though. Seems to have identified our problem areas and fixed them early.

There are still some questions unanswered ...  can he motivate ? ...  the players not respecting him ? ...  but some good signings and a positive atmosphere around the place counter this for now.   It’s a wait and see.

A number of players were unconvinced by him.

Can he motivate them? More to the point, can they hear and/or understand him?

If he plays to the players strengths we'll be okay.

If he doesn't - as we saw January to April - then he won't last too long.

It’s alright if they don’t understand Appleton explains it to them ...      oh, hang on ...

How is Stowell still here lollol

Stowell will be here as long as Schmeichel is here.  When Kasper goes, Stowell will soon follow as he worships Kasper and the other keepers suffer as a result

Seems to be the way we treat people when they are no longer required....no matter how well they may have served us.   Very disappointing if true!

Personally, I expected us to act with a bit more class and integrity when dealing with people (Appleton, Ranieri, Shakespeare) as Thai people and our Thai owners in particular 'allegedly' place a lot of emphasis on integrity and respect....

I suspect he knew for a while and they had to wait until the end of June to make it official as that seems to be the end/interim date for all contracts.

Respect is a big thing....

I'm sure he'd know to a certain extent what the future of his career was before he went on his honeymoon. Doesn't take a genius to work it out when a new manager arrives, we've been very unusual in keeping old staff on. He had his chance to impress but obviously didn't enough. We haven't a clue whether he's any good or not and it won't hurt that those players that it applies to, if they had him as an allie to whine to and cause discontent, well he's now gone. That too is conjecture of course. Anyway, it's business full stop. If they were going to have new staff in, best at the start of training and if contractual wranglings were ocurring beforehand and they couldn't get him in sooner that's just how it goes. I wouldn't worry about Appleton, he won't starve!

Let's face it - who'd want to tell him face to face!!

This is going to cost the owners a fortune in payoffs come December.

Puel is hunkering down deep within our club structure, spreading his roots.  Mid-table or above come the end of this season and he is going to be here for a few years.  Maybe even one day you'll grow to love him...

It's not very respectful to sack someone in any other way than face to face, let alone over the phone when the guy's on his honeymoon! The amount of money someone is being paid doesn't change that imo.

And just maybe come October/ November those of us who remain totally unconvinced will very unfortunately be found to be justified in our lack of confidence.
