Agreed. I'm sure old posts could be found on here but plenty were picking him as our POTS at the halfway mark of the Champions League season. Edited 9 August 2018 by Stevosevic 1
Foxxed Posted 9 August 2018 Posted 9 August 2018 (edited) I think it might happen. Maddison will play an advanced role. Ndidi and Choudhury are nailed on defensive midfielders. And apparently Benkovic can play DM. That leaves Silva, Iborra for the more advanced roles, and Iborra is more defensive than Silva who's in no way an attacking midfielder. Silva is looking good but could swap with Drinkwater. And Drinky and Vardy would be great for team spirit. [Edit] Removed the conjoined twins of Hamza and Choudhury Edited 9 August 2018 by Foxxed
Stevosevic Posted 9 August 2018 Posted 9 August 2018 With 2.5 hours left there really isn't any worthy news on DD at all. I imagine he isn't moving today.
WigstonWanderer Posted 9 August 2018 Posted 9 August 2018 All the people who want him back, do you want him if he becomes our highest paid player? Genuine question.

We've seen this before with players like Danny, who get their big move and then barely get any game time. They always seem to try stick it out longer than they should and then eventually move back to a mid-table/lower Prem club 2-3 years after. I can't see him going anywhere this window. January perhaps at the earliest

No way. If he does come back, should be a season long loan, where we contribute what we were paying him before his move. Chelsea pick up the rest. Can't see it happening though and not that keen on it either. 1

Moving deeper down that bench. The lads arse cheeks are either rock solid from sitting on pine all day or splintered to fcuk. Such a great deal for city but a sad career move for him. The grass is usually never greener on the top 3/4 side ( when you arent world class to begin with). Everyone saw this coming except DD. Got to have a detrimental affect on your pysche/game to not play or be wanted. He needs a loan to buy move and i think it will happen in january. I still think he could be a decent midfielder for half of the prem league teams if he snaps out of his funk. Edited 9 August 2018 by Jattdogg

Nick Posted 9 August 2018 Posted 9 August 2018 This will surely be a loan deal to wherever DANNY goes as others won’t pay the whack of wages he’s on in full.

You think people who think Drinkwater is better than Choudhury are deluded? Wow i think its the other way round. He looks a prospect but that is a bold statement. I'll have some of whatever you're smoking mate. Granted he did create some good chances for Vardy. But he had no pace, couldn't head the ball, couldn't tackle, all attributes young Choudhuary has, He just needs experience. The fact we haven't signed him should tell you that Puel doesn't rate him either. But keep watching and learning. I've never smoked anything but I did do the job professionally for a very long time.

Some good signings but getting them all to gel quickly, could be difficult and their fans will be ready to turn as soon as it takes a dip. Decent move for Drinky. Not sure why he wants to go abroad if he can stay in the Prem He has probably heard what a fantastic club OH Leuven is and wants to join them
ronnup Posted 9 August 2018 Posted 9 August 2018 I feel for him a bit. He was very naive but he still won us the league, obviously not single handed but I want him to do well. We’re never winning it again. Shame for his career to stagnate but he brought that on himself really. If he doesn’t get a loan move he’s got a season of league cup performances ahead of him.
Buzzell Posted 9 August 2018 Posted 9 August 2018 Man we had Chelsea’s pants down when we sold him. Bad decision to go which cost him a place at the World Cup. It really didn’t help with the fact he started his Chelsea career injured, he hasn’t looked the same since then. He achieved something massive here and probably thought it was time to test himself at a bigger club, but yet again as we’ve seen in the past, it’s not always greener on the other side, except for his wallet. Hope he finds a way out, permanent or loan where he can get regular game time. 1

His England prospects had pretty much come and gone by then. Had he stayed at Leicester are you seriously suggesting that he would have featured in Southgate's plans? 1
Wymsey Posted 9 August 2018 Posted 9 August 2018 Quite convinced Chelsea's new manager will probably have never heard of him and will opt to use the more well-known central midfielders they have. I doubt that he had asked to be loaned out imo, as even if he did and fails to perform well consistently - his reputation/stock would've lower more imo.

Popular Post Webbo Posted 9 August 2018 Popular Post Posted 9 August 2018 I've nothing against the man but I can't feel sorry for somebody being paid £100k+ a week for not doing his job. 13
