Oh yeah I'm not disagreeing with that part.

But Munir is rubbish.

Haha I've always thought he looked lethal but there's probably a reason Barca keep farming him out. I can't see why we can't just go and get another winger in. I'd take any of the following:

1) Thorgan Hazard

2) Mikael Antonio

3) Marko Pjaca

4) Andros Townsend

5) Nacer Chadli

6) Michael Gregoritsch

7) Bertrand Traore

8) David Neres

9) Bruma

10) Abdulkadir Omur

I've not even mentioned likely unobtainable players like Bernard, Bailey, Ziyech and Lozano.

Any of the 10 above though would give us much needed options.

I only see 8 the rest look good.

Good shout on those 8

Neres would be very exciting but if surprised if he was interested in coming here

Only chance we'd have is throwing £100k a week at him.

Old video, but gives you a good taste of what he's all about.

In terms of technical ability, he's got it in abundance and is tricky, fast (with good acceleration), can finish and creative too. But the issue is that I think he's more of a 9 than a 7 or 11? With Vardy and Nacho we have two players that can finish, but where we are sorely lacking is in creative forward players who can feed our striker and who can make runs to create space and more shooting opportunities. Based on preseason, Maddison looks like he'll be pivotal to us this season, but with Mahrez leaving we will struggle based on what we've seen last season and in preseason this.

With the right setup and tactics you could get a player like this performing well and I don't think he'd *have* to be the striker either. I could see him fitting in on the right of a 4-3-3 / 4-5-1.

Maybe there's something to the story.

You really wouldn't, Ric.

Paco was the star at Valencia, absolutely brilliant, if he hadn't have left he'd still be leading the line for them going in to their champions league campaign. He backed himself to go to Barca and failed to get by Suarez, there's no real shame in that.

In the meantime he's been capped a fair few times for Spain hitting a similar return to Vardy for England. He's mustard, he'll move on from Barcelona to - most likely - another Spanish or Italian club and he'll have a great career as a poacher.

Munir is poor. He's got technical ability but hasn't really improved at all and doesn't have the right commitment to back it up. He's like a much slower Demarai Gray with similar levels of end product. He did sod all at Valencia, has never gotten anywhere near threatening to get a glimpse at Barca.

He's got less about him than Bojan did at the same age, he'll grind out a career at lower mid table clubs before disappearing.

Think we really are penniless for the rest of this season, Loan deals the way forward....

It doesn't help being able to field another XI of unwanted players, how about selling them instead of extending deals.

I'm guessing because we have breached FFP once we have to be more careful now as we could leave ourselves open to a points deduction for strike two??

Exactly ally need to move on! But it’s hard when so many are on such high wages

King, James 4 year deals , Ulloa and Simpson these should all be at a new club by now.

Would love him to come here and play up top with Vards, scoring and assist threat is just want we need. Way more impressed by his awareness and link up play than his out and out goal scoring ability. Would take both though!

Hope this comes through

Essentially what it might show is that we are looking for more goals, and that we might be shipping some of our excess striking options once this deal goes through.

We might be going for a loan, as we might have someone on a long-term basis in mind in January or the next summer, and we are looking at him as a safer short-term option, it's just Barca being nobs. I'd say this isn't worrying, I think it's probably good business.

I don't think this is our Mahrez replacement. It might be our Ulloa replacement. We already have Slimani (if we can get him playing!).

I'd like to think a bit more optimistically, maybe instead of us struggling financially it's the player who wants the loan deal to see how he fairs in the Premier League before moving somewhere permanent? :dunno:

Sort of meant more the fact we are even considering a loan deal expensive. Say we pay £8m for the season and his goals fire us to 6th, there's the value straight back and more! Just seems we aren't thinking that way....
