Absolutely not. Kante is rightly touted as one of, if not the best in the world in the role that he does. 

 

Mendy however, has been excellent so far and I really hope it continues. He is just so energetic and efficient with the ball. 

 

With Silva, Iborra and Choudary to come in when needed too, we have great options in the centre.

i actually wouldn't. Incredible player, but Maguire and N'didi are turning into stars in their own right, and Mendy could head that way too, with his current form!

I said just after the season started that we needed to see what a fully fit Mendy played like.

He’s been good, no doubt.

But I tell you what. Let’s not start comparing him to a player who has now won the Premiership twice and the World Cup.

Call me ‘mr picky’ but let’s give him a few more games until we properly judge

I thought you knew FT Player plays no games for us and he's shite. Then plays four games and he's Kate Oh in other news Watford are doing a Leicester title to be presented in three weeks

I tend to agree with lots of other posters that it is not useful to compare (and I also think Kante is the world's best player so hard to compare anyone with him) but it does make you wander "what if" in terms of his injury and whether that season may have been very different had he hit the ground running.  X

I'm sure we had this bollocks about Amartey at one point. It hurts that he's gone but Kante really was a one in a million for us. One of the best players in the world picked up by us for a pittance.

 

Mendy also isn't really like Kante as a player. Mendy's a bit more of a water-carrier.
