Pascanu is in the squad, but would say it's likely that Maguire will be rushed back to play if Wes doesn't make it. Doesn't look like Evans will.

I'd have more faith if we played Steve Walsh and Matty Elliott or Larry May and Jon O'Neil.

He got a few reds in Germany and was hauled off the u23s for aggression. He's looked decent for us recently, and with enough time he'll push for a first team place, but it's a legit concern.

It is hard to get too concerned when we have had 4 reds already this season

It's true. If someone gets a red or lets in an easy goal it'll just be a normal Saturday for a first teamer. Got to give Puel credit for reducing the pressure on these youngsters!

Take your point mate, but we’ve seen what Benny is capable of and Fuchs at CB, neither option puts and more faith in me. I’d rather give an academy lad a chance if it came to it, else what message is that sending out to the academy - there’s a lengthy injury list but you’re still not getting anywhere near the team?

 

As mentioned above it’s probably hypothetical anyway as I’d expect one of Morgan and Evans will be ok to partner Soyuncu.

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned, given Soyuncu’s struggles with the lingo Fuchs would be able to talk with him as they both speak German. Hopefully HM is able to play though.
