Cant believe we lost to Cardiff still ffs lol

Built some nice momentum. Just need a couple quality attackers and we can start beating teams that park the bus.

Cardiff was a freaky result Maddison scores and we win ... that’s football

Ugh and those interviews! Keep your winning results and high table positions Claude. You’re fired!

As soon as we can replace the likes of Gray and Okazaki (I love you shinji) with some real attacking quality we’ll be able to beat the Cardiff’s of the league too.

Loved the usual boring,

mundane and pessimist crap from the usual suspects during the match thread....happy new year

It's annoying but better to lose to Cardiff than Everton who are a direct rival.

Winning all 4 would have been nice though :D

he will get manager of the month and people in here will still want him out because it’s not the same style as WHEN  WE WON THE LEAGUE

Puel out...  I've had enough of poor results.... I expected 4 points; he get 9..... who does he think he is?

Pfft. I'm not sure what to think any more.

Perfect game plans today and at Chelsea (kill the first half with zero attacking intent before coming out a little more adventurous second half) but then horrendous at home to Everton completely in sync with Puel's biggest failings here (taking maximum points off poor sides at home).

It raises a couple of key questions for me:

- If Puel was brought in to get us beating teams with possession-based football but we've got 9 points from playing on the break is this the right style for us?

- If the second halves at Chelsea and Everton have seen a change in style which has made us a bit more adventurous and resulted in results then why can't we play like from the start?

In a few months then if we're struggling against the likes of Huddersfield are we going to use these four fixtures as a reason to keep him? As it happens these last four results are trademark Puel, except we've snuck two wins from the top sides we'd usually do well to draw against. They are still results that usually only fall for us once every half a dozen seasons. Whereas the last few years its been winning against the lesser sides and losing against the top, its a bit more balanced now but still very frustrating because we are still more likely to drop points at home to Cardiff than we are to beat the top sides. The majority of Puel outers are that way because they don't think this will work long term, not because we couldn't beat Cardiff at home.

I’d like to think he’s building a squad capable of playing in many different ways to suit the situation including a team that can pass which clearly failed to do today so did Everton so tiredness was probably a big reason.

Because performance enhancing drugs are illegal? (or certainly the testing has improved since a few seasons ago)

3 games in quick succession = impossible to play high tempo full press non-stop.  MA only had half in him today.

This is very true.

god forbid we score a counter attacking goal without the bandwagon saying we should ditch passing revert back to it permanently lol

I think its when teams start to attack in the second half and therefore open up which plays into our strengths.

Some posters are SO fickle it's amazingly sad.

Always need a scapegoat(Current one being Ghazzel) and never happy albeit we've just claimed 9 points out of 12.

Even hammering the club for mascot prices- even though there is a bloody waiting list!!
