Season Ticket

Recommended Posts

Hi

I’m interested in getting a season ticket for next season, currently a membership holder. Just wondering how many new applicants do they take and do you get Fa Cup/Carabo Cup fixtures at home free.

thanks

If it’s the same as last season they’ll offer it out to the members with the most points. How many are available simply depends on how many don’t renew from this season and they’ve not included any cup matches since we were at Filbert Street I think.

So I’ve got no chance of getting one basically if I brought a membership at the start of the season

Depends how many points you've amassed in that time.

Are lcfc not looking to do a stadium expansion

Yeah they’ll probably have that knocked up by early June to be fair, reckon you might get one dunno though.

lol sorry...you’ll probably go on a waiting list if there is one mate you’ll do well to get one next year though unless renewals are really really low.

Season Tickets are currently sold out

Any non renewals (usually a few hundred) are balloted amongst members after the renewal period. So if you're a member, you have a chance

Only 19 x League fixtures are included in the ST

They didn’t do ballot last year just went on membership points amassed over previous two seasons.

the question has to be though why do you want a season ticket at Leicester when your profile pic is of old Trafford???

Long Story Mate.

You’re on an internet, Leicester city dedicated, football forum....if there’s one thing that we all have too much of it’s time....

Last couple of years the few hundred that have been left from non renewals have been put to a members ‘ballot’ and gone to the members with the higher points gained over the past two seasons. Having got in excess of 40 points, my Dad and I were lucky in the ballot in the summer to get season tickets. If you are a new member I’d probably say the chances of getting one are unlikely depending on renewal numbers of course ?

Even with it being a pain travelling from uni, hugely reluctant to give up my ticket with how difficult it is to get one these days

It's a nightmare trying to get one now.

I moved away for a year before the title-winning season so basically dropped to the back of the queue. Building up points through the title and CL seasons as a new member was practically impossible as you needed to be a member with points already to get tickets for a lot of the fixtures.

Last season's ticket ballot for each match was infuriating for members trying to build up points, although this season I've been able to - for a small fortune - get tickets* consistently for every home game (league and cup), even for matches I knew I couldnt get to (gave tickets to family). Even then it's still going to be luck of the draw whether or not I have enough points to get one of the few tickets that become available.

The sooner the stadium expansion happens the better. God only knows what they're going to do during construction, though, as presumably capacity will be reduced for a while...

*Single tickets, that is. Literally zero chance for anyone who wants a pair of seats together.

Can't imagine how hard it is to build up points to be in the chance of getting a season ticket or even to away games.

Can never tell if the empty seats are from people not turning up or not being sold. Feel it's the former, and its why a trade-in scheme would help. Gets people in and allows "new" faces in the ground to build up points to get into the chance of having a ticket.

Can guarantee its the former. I typically 'seat-hop' and am usually somewhere random in the west stand. When I go to buy tickets - particularly for the bigger matches - its normally only single seats available, but there's almost always a row of 3-4 seats completely empty somewhere near me, or they'll only be at their seats for about 30mins of the actual match. Super frustrating.

In an effort to build up points I've bought tickets to matches I know I'm not able to make (given those tickets away to family), dragged my non-football-supporting partner along to cup games with a ticket in my name for an extra point (don't think this is possible anymore) and been to preseason friendlies with most the first team missing. Hate to think how much I've spent above the cost of a ST. Thankfully it seems a lot easier this season than it did last with the ballot, but still...

From what I recall the cutoff for an ST last year was about 38 points and I'm on track for 40-something, but with the changes to the schemes its impossible to say. One good thing about the indifferent spell is that as it stands there might be a few more non-renewals this year...
