Shed the best part of 3.5 stone this year and need to be careful it doesn't go back on. Wasn't a big lad but wanted to get back to my 3rd year uni weight and feel fitter in the process.

Was on furlough April, May and June and was hammering walks etc outside of work hours (despite not having to work regardless), would get up at 6ish and walk for bloody miles, proper set up for the day knowing it's in the bag. Since coming off furlough I made a pact to myself I'd at least try and get some exercise in before the working day but just can't bloody manage it. Caning big bike rides on the Saturdays and the odd smaller ride after work, but I don't know why my weekday morning motivation has fallen off a cliff since going back to work, it's from home so there's not much faff in the mornings, either.

Anyone manage to get their arse out of their pit before work, is it just a case of building some momentum? Get the first one down and it'll feel easier?

I’ll never be one to be able to get up early and exercise so I do it on my lunch break instead, obviously if you don’t work from home that’s probably not that helpful but I’ve done a minimum of 30 mins 3 days then a rest on the 4th since lockdown and feel like I’m the fittest I’ve ever been.

The thing that kept me motivated was wanting to make sure I didn’t go backwards while i couldn’t go to the gym.

So gyms can reopen from 25th July. Looking forward to this as have missed going for the past few months.

I'm interested to see the steps gyms will have taken to reduce transmission events.

Anyone going back?

I'm sorry to say I've jacked my subscription. I feel a bit for PureGym, who've been a good service provider and acted immediately after lockdown.

But I'm in better shape than ever working out in the garden. So can't justify it. Maybe the winter months will see me back

Yep, I'll be queuing up like a cvnt at 6am on Saturday morning to get back in

Can't fvckin wait to be honest, I've been counting down the days like a kid before Xmas.

My PureGym have been great and suspended membership for the last 4 months. I'm on a £10.99 a month deal for the next few months then it goes up to £18 a month which I still think is cracking value.

Really can't motivate myself to exercise at home and I've lost energy, flexibility, muscle mass and weight in lockdown.

The Gym is my happy place and I'm itching to get started again.

Nope, cancelled my membership although it runs until September. I might go in just to use the Bodytrax machine that measures body fat etc but I’m scared it It could derail me. After working my arse off for 4 months if I get on that and it tells me I’m hidden obese I’ll probably jack in the exercise and not be so hidden.

Don’t worry there will still be that one willy puller that’s plucking his eyebrows on the only machine you want to use for an hour.

Bollux, just checked and you're right it's 8am on a Saturday and 6am week days.

Good job you posted that otherwise I'd have been stood outside like a lemon for 2 hours :D

Had my Gym membership cancelled by The Marriott Hotel a couple of days ago, as think it’s just now being used for hotel guests only.

I joined to hit the running machines etc but enjoyed Swimming/Sauna and Steam room more than I anticipated (and spent more time there than in the gym) which I have missed over last 3/4 months.

It was great as at 6/7am most days was quiet and had place to yourself before work as most hotel guests were still asleep, even peak times weren’t too busy.

Really unsure where to look/try next if anyone has any recommendations that could help sway where I go next.

Depends what you want I guess and what your budget is. If you aren’t worried about budget the best is David Lloyd Narborough in my opinion.

I go to a Nuffield and they’ve introduced 30 minute lane swimming slots that you book via their app. I’ve booked 6 slots over two weeks and I’m buzzing, I absolutely hate having to share a lane when I’m swimming so it’ll be pure bliss to know I’ve got it to myself for a full 30 minutes. Can not wait to go back to the gym I feel like the fat lad who eats all the cake in the film Matilda.

Our sports centre at work is going to be opening in a couple of weeks. Apparently there won't be any changing rooms available for swimming at all, and we are expected to turn up pool ready with costumes underneath clothes, and then put clothes on over the top of clothes afterwards. Not sure how that works when I will have a two mile (soggy) walk home afterwards?!

Mine in Enderby isn't opening back up. Not really arsed about going back as I do a lot from home. They have said they would pause the membership and once they can reopen, the end of the contract will start again. Annoyingly I paid for it upfront and although I could probably haggle and get some money back but I can't be bothered at this point.

Just so you know, the changing rooms are closed. So you'll have to go in you kit and come home to get showered and changed :D

I'm buzzing about getting in there and trying to shift this lockdown flab.

Hopefully won't be too busy today.

At Arsenal on Sunday and then planning on getting in the gym every day.

Let's see how long it is before making excuses not to go...

I think it’s the other way round mate, all the footballers stalk me in there as well. Leave me alone you weirdos.

Can't wait to get back armed with my dettol wipes. Mainly for the mental health effects, running and press ups in the park gets old after a while and I reckon I've lost quite a bit of strength over this period.
