String fellow Posted 9 March 2019 Posted 9 March 2019 Definitely a Leicester City great, but I suggest that 1950s ace goalscorer Arthur Rowley was perhaps the greatest, based on his 2nd highest total number of goals and highest strike rate. Hopefully, JV will soon be up to no.5 in the list. It's good to see the Mighty String in at no.8. 1. Arthur Chandler 273/0.65 2. Arthur Rowley 265/0.83 3. Ernie Hine 148/0.60 4. I never described him as the greatest, only as my "favourite" ever Foxes player

David Hankey Posted 9 March 2019 Posted 9 March 2019 Can anyone confirm what the true tally of goals is scored by Vardy at Leicester City, please? Last week I understand he chalked up his 99th. This week after scoring his second it came over the tannoy that it was his 100th or did I mis-hear? Whatever, many congratulations to Vards, exceptional class!!

If you're counting it, it's 101, if not it's 100.

H Are you having a laugh? Jamie's goals won us the premier league Jamie's goals made sure we stayed up in the great escape. And the best ever for me, was his goal against madrid, which to this day, the way we were performing, if we had got a bit of luck and got the second, we would have gone on to win the tie. Can you please tell, what Arthur's goals ultimately achieved for us? Thinking about it, fair play to you, your suggestion is obviously fishing, and you definitely caught me.
Corky Posted 9 March 2019 Posted 9 March 2019 Fantastic record and even more impressive given over three quarters of them have been in the Premier League and Champions League. He's back to the clinical finishing Vardy in the past month.

I know our club is really poor at respecting and paying tribute to our history and the great players who have gone before us, but Rowley as the highest goal scorer in the history of English Football should be respected and should have some recognition at the club. He regularly scored 30+ a season and although many of his goals came in the second division, he did win the div two title with us. 250+ goals for our club deserves some respect from the club and supporters. Not sure why as a supporter base we continually need to put one player down to raise another. Both great strikers for our club and both achieved an awful lot to be proud of.
