If you love this club then I really don't see why you would show such a lack of respect to an ex player who was clearly at the top of his game with those numbers.

It's difficult to compare achievements over a long period of time. Is Hamilton a better driver than Jackie Stewart? The stats will tell you Hamilton has won more races, but then he's also driven more and in an entirely different car with different styles of tracks, different rules... we'll never know. Would Vardy be so prolific if he were playing on muddy, chewed up pitches with heavy leather boots and much heavier footballs, with less training facilities? Again, we'll never know. Regardless, Chandler, Rowley, Hines, etc, deserve some respect for their achievement as much as JV. All Leicester Legends.

String fellow Posted 10 March 2019 Posted 10 March 2019 A discussion about the relative importance of different goals scored by different players would be almost impossible without detailed historical knowledge. But as the point has been mentioned, let's not forget that quite a significant proportion of JV's goals have been scored in losing games. If goals could be given points based on their relative importance within each game and each game's wider significance, that would give a truer picture of the relative merits of City's ace goalscorers over the last 120 years. With that system, and depending on the weightings used, JV could well be on top, but who knows?

foxy boxing Posted 11 March 2019 Posted 11 March 2019 Really pleased for him to score over a century of goals for us is amazing. to think we paid a million pounds for a non league player and he has become an amazing player for us. he is just so vital to the team and will be difficult to find his successor.

Look at the teams they have been against as well and bar Watford you could argue all of them would be sitting deep against us to nullify his threat. The key difference is getting more players in to support him and pressing higher up will create openings. Puel really is being shown up to be an absolute plonker.

Vardinio'sCat Posted 12 March 2019 Posted 12 March 2019 Superb to see him banging them in again. He might have a touch less pace than 3 years ago, but I've no doubt he is still improving some aspects of his game. He still has plenty to give, if we can give him the ball in those crucial areas. He showed excellent decision making and precision in each of our goals on Saturday. Here's to the next hundred.
MC Prussian Posted 12 March 2019 Posted 12 March 2019 Currently on 74 Premier League goals. It's not unrealistic to say he could reach 100 by the end of next season.
