Mail is also taking he line that we wanted 95m but united knocked us down after hm skipped training and pulled our of last night's game (deal done before kick off but don't let that spoil a good story). They just can't have us looking like we might upset the cartel that is the top six and their media cronies. Can't wait for us to give utd a good seeing to on the pitch.

They can sugar coat it as much as they like. Buying him for £85m is a complete pants down.  We’ve played united like a fiddle, and it’s been beautiful.

I don’t think he improves their defence anywhere near as much as they think he will.

There’s a lot of pressure now on Manchester Utd’s back line. £50m on Wan Bissaka and £80m on Maguire. If they don’t hit the ground running then the fans will no doubt be straight on their case and Ole will be out that door before Christmas comes around.

Maguire 100% improves their defence but the pressure is on him. A few consistent mistakes, which happens with him from time to time, and the fans will be voicing their concern and on his back.

I've said it before but the club should ban him from the ground. His role in all of this, unsettling Harry and generally bringing negative press to the club shouldn't be forgotten about. He's been completely disrespectful to the club.

I'll never forgive him for the way he reported the helicopter crash. He was excited about reporting breaking news as if he was reporting a deadline day signing. You shouldn't be reporting rumours when it concerns people's lives. Utter scum

I think at times the sky coverage was almost as if they were agents for man United,  ethicaly as a media organisation very worrying.

UTD have always been a goody two shoes for the likes of Sky .Even Murdoch tried to buy them at one point.

They more or less piggybacked on their success from 1993-2013. Now they have both lost a lot of their appeal for various reasons.

I haven't watched once minute of the transfer saga on Sky Sports News. It's becoming a bit of an irrelevance in the era of twitter et al. Even as tedious as the 400 pages on here was/is it's still a lot more entertaining than having to sit through Sky Sports News.

Throw 50m at Leverkusen for Tah. See what happens.

Probably see us as a step backwards but money is very persuasive.

Jesus please don’t advise rudders this considering he has a £25m release clause lol

Classic Dorsett, here’s what was actually said

To me I read that as BR would rather get a replacement & isn’t 100% confident on what we currently have to get top 6.

Harry will slot right in and is a guaranteed starter. For DD it was a bridge too far but no one can blame him to have tried his luck at a higher level. Anyone of us would. Mahrez is in competition with world class wingers, so his first season was never going to be easy. He still got 3 more medals around his neck (the Community Shield is a glorified friendly) even if he didn't play a decisive part in it and ended up winning the AFCON. Hardly a bad choice.

People should stop considering a player moving as guilty of high treason.

If you consider that a ready made silverware option is an achievement, then I suppose these players will be happy, but unless you have a challenge in life then what is the point? Being a money mercenary is not really a good way to full-fill you footballing expectations or ambitions, better to go on a journey than have it handed on a plate.

Agree he is an improvement, but he’s not the absolute brick wall, VVD equivalent that they reckon he will be. Like you say he’s got mistakes in him.

He’s been a fine player for us and I’ll miss him, but would you say he’s the best CB we’ve ever had? I think that’s a tricky one. We’ll be fine without him too, I’m confident of that, not being bitter or sour grapes, I just think we’ve got adequate cover and the money to replace if we really want to.

But it’s a short career. Players are at their peak for 5-7 years. Sadly, money talks.

I rate Soyuncu really highly too. Just bothers me that people seem to think that he'll slip seamlessly into Harry's boots and perform at a similar level. I think that's a very tall order and in reality, probably isn't going to happen. I think a lot of people are underestimating how good Harry is if they think he can be replaced so easily.* Also, IMHO, the CBs we've been linked to: Dunk, Tarkowski, Ake - none of these guys are anywhere near Harry's level.

*ps I'm not saying you think this! This is the gist I get from reading the last few pages.

There’s a difference between being miffed that a player has gone and HOW that player leaves imo.

I have no qualms about Harry leaving. He’ll get to play in front of home gates of 80,000 plus, will be at one of the most prestigious clubs on the planet and will probably be made skipper before too long. Fair play

However, what we’ve done is to hold out to get the best deal for us so happy days all round

I read it as “We have options available [to replace Maguire] and the club will judge over the course of the weekend about whether to activate those. If we do some business, great, but if not we will work with what we’ve got”.

Funny fvcker lol
