The man is 38 years old and yet this season has been flogged week in week out, last season when managed properly he bagged 20 goals, this season despite us being the pits he has still scored 7 and 3 assists in a team that has scored 27 league goals all season, he is nowhere the issue in this side.

The fact he starts 90% of our games and is the captain is a damning indictment on how piss poor our recruitment has been in recent years. Pretty much every attacking player has dropped off the edge of a cliff since Ruud’s first two games.

Personally if he agreed  to a sensible contract I would have him here for another season, to support the large group of younger players coming through and to be a rotational and impact option. He would still bag double figures next season.

He wouldn’t be my captain but he is still effective and he gives a 💩 about this club, you can see how much this is hurting him.

My issue with Vardy and how he is managed is at the club not the player, this season has been a disgrace in terms of neither Daka or Eduaord offering any semblance of a challenge or an alternative and so we have persisted with running Vardy into the ground.

Vardy's the one being paid megabucks, despite his advanced years.  So he has to start every game for which he declares himself fit.

As so often previously this season, today he was a pitiful tribute act, a pale shadow of the force he once was. Even many of his former fanboys are starting to realise his days are numbered.

He deserves to be thanked for his past services, but now is the time to move on.

If another club want to take a chance on him and fund the soap opera his career has become, then let them.

If he goes, I hope it's to Saudi, and he earns an obscene amount of money to finish off his career after starting relatively late playing in the prem. I couldn't take seeing him play against us in a Wrexham shirt if they get promoted. It's probably time but not to another team we could play.

Great servant and a club legend, but it's painful to see how little impact his has.

Daka is crap but the fact he can actually sprint helps.

Prime Ronaldo couldn’t make an impact 40 yards from a teammate all game!

We've just become the FIRST team in the history of English professional football to go between Christmas and Easter without scoring a single home goal.

Let that sink in.

In 2025, that's the baggage Vardy will bring to whichever club he plays for next season.

Like Rudkin and RVN - who have both indulged him far too much - he needs to leave before any kind of rebuild can begin.

He should not be given another year.

The last matches indicate just that, sadly.

If he wants to stay on a nominal wage, he should, because he's a legend, but I he's probably heading for MLS or the Middle East.

Gutted for him the way it’s all unfolding. Albrighton went at the right time and got the send off he deserved

We will probably never see a player of his quality and loyalty again, there’s a genuine care for the club but on his wages there’s no way we can afford him for the contribution he can give and have a rebuild/ better control financially

We’ve been trying to replace him for 6-7 years and nobody has come close, it could be a long time before we have a proper no.9 that gives us a real attacking threat. The man’s a legend and if we’re to have any decency as a club this season, atleast give him some recognition whether that’s a statue, stand named after him or worst case an academy pitch

If he stays it should be as a bit part player at most.

I'm just not sure he can stay here as a bit part player. I think he's got so much clout around the club, any other striker would struggle. Unfortunately I think the best thing for both parties is to go our seperate ways. Love him and thank him in a special way but this season should he his last.

Would be a but of a tragedy if that was his last game for us.

I hope he stays on. I think it's difficult to judge him on this season, playing in team that regularly has an XG of around 0.05. He's never been one to create his own chances. I genuinely think someone of Mo Salah's calibre (just for example) would struggle to score in a team with an attack as consistently pathetic as ours.

Why would you hope he goes to Saudi?

If you like a player, going to Saudi should sour your feelings towards him. Wrexham are just Wrexham after all, they’re not particularly controversial or disrespectful to normal people.

His tifo pre-game and then him and Albrighton dancing along to ‘I predict a riot’ in front of the Kop should’ve been the happy peaceful end for him last season.

It’s so sad watching him jogging in between centre backs and pressing on his own!

One of the saddest things about this club recently is how our legends have bowed out - Schmeichel out the back door along with Kingy amongst others and now our greatest ever modern day legend being part of our worst season for some time!

The whole thing is so sad

Would you have an issue with him going to the USA then out of curiosity? With their government being what some might call controversial or disrespectful and all.

If he stays, he will end up starting every week again, rather than being a bit part player. I hate myself for saying it, but it's clear now that we need to say our goodbyes to the Goat. It's been so sad to see him this season. Again today we immediately looked more threatening when Daka, as bad as he is, came on, which says everything about Vards' lack of impact these days.

Our treatment of players who have left a legacy  is appalling.

There is next to no recognition for players from recent years and beyond who have given so much for the club and have had some great achievements. Apart from the post-match video, what is there to show?

The all star game against Anstey Nomads is the closest we are getting to any kind of testimonial game for any of our club heroes and legends etc.

Ridiculous
