If Vards hits a Vards run of goals, we’ll enjoy the rest of the season. Vardy in flow at the KP and sticking them away is the most beautiful sight in the world!

Looked completely cooked for the majority of the year, but I think that's been exposed because when he has played he has had to play the lone striker role, which I'm not sure he is up to anymore. But magically link him up with Nacho and he looks like he has something to offer again, was sharp in the game against Wolves winning the pen thanks to Nacho dropping into the space to collect and feed him, and again today space to exploit leads to him scoring, having 1 chalked off and generally looking a nuisance.

 

Think this is yet another Rodgers disasterclass of this season, alongside the Ward/Iversen, Amartey/Cags shambles. If we found a way to get both on the pitch at the same time both would have 10+ goals each and we would be mid table.

I think that what we saw tonight is probably the solution. Vardy is my all time favourite player but he just isn’t good enough to start anymore. It is genuine insanity to keep picking him in the eleven. There is no shame in this but age has caught up with him and I really don’t think that he has the legs to be considered as a ‘starter.’

 

However, we could preserve Vardy by playing him as a substitute. If you are in a dogfight (which we are) then he is a brilliant option. That’s what we saw tonight. He’ll always be up for the fight and his status will always make defenders nervous and this can create space for other attackers.

 

I really think that this is the best option. Kel should be first choice and we should utilise Vardy as a player from 60+ minutes. This strategy is essentially why Kevin Phillips had such a long career.

Funny what happens when the team actually play to your strengths and feed balls through to you off the last man - even having clearly lost a few yards of pace, that's a goal and a penalty won in the last two, plus he should have had an assist for Tete and a marginally offside second to add to that.

 

Should he be starting games anymore? No. Is he still capable of delivering the goods? Turns out he is - and I'll hold my hands up and admit I'd written him off as finished. I think we can read between the lines from his post match comment - probably a bit of déjà vu after the latter days of Puel, who also wasted his skillset with crap, tedious build-up play.

 

Let him run down his contract and give him the send-off he deserves ahead of retirement. He's still got the gonads to be a super sub this season and next.

Oh how we need him to take it out on Everton on Monday, that post match interview said a lot, he's fired up again, I wouldn't bet against him firing us to safety in the next 3 games.

Dont doubt him now…he’s refound his mojo.His eyes were on fire after the game,

Hes ready to fox-trot and rumble.
These last 6 games are going to be Vardy party territory..A legend with installments.

Hes ready to call on past debts…

He seemed to be critical of Rodgers style when he made the comment about the number of touches in between boxes.

 

Sounds like he felt that Brendan overcomplicated it too!!

Great that he got the goal, also happy about his injection of some passion etc

 

Think the offside goal he scored was a sign of his impetuousness as he didn’t need to be offside. Clearly desperate to get us the goals we need after scoring little this season.

He was good as a starter against wolves. When Vardy looks as threatening as he has been recently I wouldn't bet against him going on a run of form. I think we should be starting Vardy and Iheanacho (if he's actually fit), it's not like Barnes and tete are pulling up any trees.
