He has talent, but his lack of intelligence means he will never be a decent PL player. You don’t put up the numbers he does without being a ‘decent PL player’ 1
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 15 January 2023 Posted 15 January 2023 I think the drop off in assists is more worrying than the missed chances. 10 assists last season. A big fat 0 so far this season.
Popular Post Corky Posted 15 January 2023 Popular Post Posted 15 January 2023 They were poor misses but we create so little that they are match defining. The pressure to convert them is huge. 6
FLAN Posted 15 January 2023 Posted 15 January 2023 You could forgive the misses if he actually put any effort in for most of the game 2

Claudio Fannieri Posted 15 January 2023 Posted 15 January 2023 This thread sums up our fan base at times, Barnes is having a tough time but overall has been a shining a light over the last 3/4 seasons yet a run of bad form and some of our fan base want to drive him to a championship team for a bag of crisps, used Johnny and a half eaten bag of mint humbugs…..whilst supporting a manager who has been a bag of old toss for about 18 months ….unreal 1

Dawko Posted 15 January 2023 Posted 15 January 2023 Why is he on the left wing if his left foot is shit ?????????? 1
CrispinLA in Texas Posted 21 January 2023 Posted 21 January 2023 Sell to Liverpool for 40m they need a new striker
TrickyTrevLeftPeg Posted 21 January 2023 Posted 21 January 2023 Never rated him as he's literally a kick and run player but he's seriously hindering us at the minute 1
An Sionnach Posted 21 January 2023 Posted 21 January 2023 If he scores again , his critics will do their usual volteface. He is a poor winger but a decent striker.
Popular Post Sampson Posted 21 January 2023 Popular Post Posted 21 January 2023 He’s currently earnt us 2 points. That’s ultimately the only thing that matters from his performance, everything else is just noise 2 3

My point, the other day on this thread, is that he is being scapegoated and yes is poor currently but the whole team is, confidence is at rock bottom and they are being ‘managed’ by a moron. I disagree with those that just like slinging abuse around that he is a ‘crap’ player. His numbers are very good and he bagged today. Maybe his all round game was still poor and lacking confidence but doesn’t make him a bad player.
FoxyLeon Posted 21 January 2023 Posted 21 January 2023 Albrighton lost the full back for Brighton's equaliser, and once again, was none existent all game, except when hoofing the ball. The only question that "Barnes" is the answer to, is "Who is our greatest attacking threat everygame?". If Barnes doesn't play, that last 20 minutes is what we look like for 90.
FLAN Posted 21 January 2023 Posted 21 January 2023 Anyone who thinks he did well today wasn’t at the game. He was once again absolutely shocking. 2/10. Glad he got a goal but imagine he actually put sone effort in and thought a little about his passing 1
splinterdream Posted 21 January 2023 Posted 21 January 2023 Yeah he was really poor, poor first touch, poor decision making, gives the ball away with zero creative threat, he has it in his locker though so to speak, so what's his problem? He is the best example the Rodgers does not improve young talented players. 3
Ric Flair Posted 21 January 2023 Posted 21 January 2023 A goal will do his confidence the world of good. Wouldn't be the first time he goes from being vulgar to brilliant after a goal or two. We badly need him because Vardy looks anyhow, Daka is nowhere and other than Maddison we've absolutely nothing. 4
shade Posted 21 January 2023 Posted 21 January 2023 (edited) when he had confidence he was genuinely electric, I almost thought we had a Ronaldo/bale type player on our hands, but when he's devoid of confidence he literally just runs in to the defender, he just doesn't have a cocky and confident personality type unfortunately. It feels like our whole setup revolves around him. 1

What's the connection?.I wish people would understand his limitations , including Rodgers . He is getting most of our best chances now and yes he is missing too many but he is finding space.
